Great and informative videos, thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with us! You are a great encouragement, and I pray God blesses your ministry efforts!
I believe God has called me to the chaplain ministry for the last 13 years - it would take way too long to go into it, but it is a calling I have sort of pursued here and there but then found myself on several different paths between my pursuit of it. It's all God's timing and calling it would seem, so, here I am again and am working on getting into shape, looking into the MDIV program again (I have 21 hours towards it at Liberty), and have some pastoral experience under my belt.
One mention that I saw in one of your comments regarding the 2 year requirement for active duty chaplaincy was that it can be completed during the time as a reserve chaplain. I just wanted to confirm that time serving in the reserve would satisfy the ministry experience for active duty, is that correct?
I'm in San Antonio, so if you ever find yourself at Lackland please let me know!

I was told do it. 23, full of anxiety and depression, was diagnosed as bipolar. I was hit with the holy spirit and told do this with my life. But I've never been a good speaker. With everything that's going on in the world, I know my kind is hated, especially in the military... Please pray for me

Hi, thank you for your great informative videos! I had a question about the Chaplain Candidate Program? How much do Chaplain Candidates get paid during their summer training? What happens after you have completed your training ? I believe is 2 summers one 11 weeks and another summer 5 weeks. Thanks for your help in advance.

I know it's off topic but I was wondering are the chaplains really 100% confidential. I've been told that by other military personnel before and they took my friends clearance away and cost him a lot. I would like to talk to them but I feel sceptical

I wonder how the process would be going from enlisted active duty to chaplaincy in regards to the 2 years paid experience. Knowing the Air Force I feel like there is a waiver for everything.
Also did you have to take the AFOQT?

That may be a question for a recruiter. I think the best option would be to stay enlisted AD while completing seminary and then after graduation go reserve or IMA to get the post seminary experience to then go AD again.

So after you get complete seminary and become a chaplain you are required to serve at least 2 years as a reservist? Afterwards you can leave the military if you want to? Also where is seminary held exactly? At another college institution or an Air Force base perhaps? If at a university do you have to already be a grad student before you apply for the candidate program? I ask that because I don't think I can afford grad school at the moment. I won't have my bachelor's until 2020. Forgive me for all the questions but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere else lol.

In order to go Active Duty, there must be 2 years of ministry experience after seminary. That experience can be done through joining the reserves straight after seminary. As an officer, you have the ability to give up your commission and leave whenever but normally once seminary is completed a contract will be signed to state the amount of years to serve. There are many seminaries of all different faiths that can be found all other the world. Yes, you must be accepted into seminary before applying as a chaplain candidate. The Army is helpful with providing financial help for seminary even without prior military experience.

If you're not accepted as a chaplain as a candidate what happens next? Are you still required to serve in the military?

If you are a candidate and not accepted as a chaplain then your time in service will end. If you would like to continue your service then I believe you would have to reapply for another position through a recruiter.

Hello I'm about to graduate from college and was hoping to pick your brain about being a chaplain before I talk to my recruiter and becoming a Candidate this video was very informative but I think im almost about to age out of the air force but I would be nice to ask you questions if that will be ok
