You can start these exercises from a finger of your choice in the right hand, but ALWAYS alternate. The number of notes in this scale (from G on the 1st string to E on the 6th string) works out so that if you alternate, you will start and end the run with the same finger. When adding notes back in the first exercise, calculate the starting finger so that you always end the run on the same finger.

Hi Grisha, what do you think about the special picado technique which Rafael Cortes uses? It's a kind of "economy picado" similar to the sweep picking technique when you use a pick. I tried it for a while but then put it aside, but Rafael gets insane speed with it, still with a good tone. What's your opinion?

Thanks so much for taking time to post these videos. It is such a great asset to be able to learn from a master. I actually fumbled through the first exercise slowly and was gradually able to play it faster after about 10 attempts. I then did the descending phrygian run and was shocked at how much easier, faster, cleaner and smoother I was able to to play it. This exercise does EXACTLY what you say it will.

hello Grisha Goryachev I reviewed the video of the school of Pumping Nylon diego salveti and your video and indeed everyone is talking about pressing the string and even you are talking about it )))but what I've learned from all of this is
1)the nail is at the level of the pads and the shape of the finger pads is slightly higher than the level of the pads
    2) the nail is closer to the string even in tight
    3) at the same time, I noticed that when pressing the string, the entire finger presses and the entire finger is released and not the middle joint pulls back after pressing the entire finger
4)))and the middle joint cannot press the string and the metacarpal presses and works the entire finger )))if I'm wrong you can correct me )))
