  • This is a cold start of my 300D Turbo. It was below freezing without being plugged in for a block heater. Enjoy!

      I appreciate your kind words! Unfortunately (or rather fortunately for me), after I replaced the glow plugs, it starts in a single crank down to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

      @@janelzinga1964This is going to sound ironic but-
      make sure it starts in the cold. Have the seller leave it at least overnight so you can feel what it’s like to start a cold/sitting diesel.
      Make sure all of the features that you want work. Often times it’s worth it to spend a little bit more initially then have to fix things later.
      Take it on the highway. Not advising felonies, but if it is a turbo, and it can’t go over the speed limit (+20 etc), there’s an issue.

      Alda delete is definitely not necessary but won’t be terribly harmful to anything except mileage.

    • @masonk.974
      @masonk.974  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Old benzes don't need block heaters. The reason why this cold start took so long was because only 2 of 5 glow plugs worked and I didn't assist at all with the throttle.
      I have since replaced the glow plugs with bosch OEM and it starts perfectly.

They are obviously not rocketships but mine does get up and boogie a little bit- plenty to keep up with even 80mph highway traffic.

      Like I said 10 or maybe 20 times, I did not want to get snow in the cabin and only 2 or 3 glow plugs were working at this point. I don’t know if you noticed over your extreme ignorance, but there was about 8 inches of snow on the ground, which makes it VERY hard to get the car serviced! Please take your negativity elsewhere.
