The moment many have waited for all last year is finally here: It's time to kick off the 74th edition of the iconic Festival di Sanremo!
The first of five nights has just taken place, and we saw all 30 acts take the stage with their songs. At the end of the night, the press jury voting (TV and online media) formed a ranking to determine which acts are in the top five for the night. After the results were revealed, the top five are:
Loredana Bertè - "Pazza"
Angelina Mango - "La noia"
Annalisa - "Sinceramente"
Diodato - "Ti muovi"
Mahmood - "Tuta gold"

this song is Mediterranean and therefore typical of southern Italy, while Annalisa's song represents a bit of northern Italy

Angelina is from Lagonegro, southern Italy. So she is singing in Italian but with Mediterranean vibes. Southern Italy was Spanish, Arab and Greek as well during history, like many other regions of southern Italy. Her city is also close tu Puglia, Campania, and Basilicata, regions that have very Arabic vibes as well. And southern music is very traditional in Italy. We love her 🇮🇹🎶

@@scully8950 Se vogliamo fare i pignoli, a Maratea ci è nata (e forse avevano anche una casa a mare), ma la famiglia, ovviamente padre in primis, erano di Lagonegro ed hanno tutti vissuto prevalentemente lì (e non è provincia di MT, ma di PZ)
In ogni caso la canzone è stata scritta da Madame (veneta) e prodotta da Dardast (milanese), quindi tutta questa discernita sulle sue origini è davvero un po' ridicola.
This is a typical sound in southern Italy, specifically the Puglia and Basilicata regions (which are actually closer to Albania and Greece)

Cumbia is actually a music genre from Colombia, but I surely recognize some echoes from the Balcan area. Angelina sings with a strong accent of Naples (Campania region, south-western Italy; while Puglia is in the South-East).
Naples is mixed greek whit spanish, puglia is like 70% greek
You guessed right, the melody does not derive from the Italian tradition but is more Spanish (in reality in the text, rather than in the music, there is a reference to the "cumbia", which is a dance from the Colombian and more generally Latin American tradition)
Angelina is very good, she is the daughter of an artist, her father was Mango, a great Italian singer-songwriter (and with a great voice) who died too soon.

I love this song! There's so many elements stitched together in this song. It has attitude yet pulls you back to reflection on the ballet parts. I also noticed the backing music, it's like uptempo, old style flamenco music from the 1950s, yet it works really well with the modern beat. I would be happy if Italy sent this. If not, at least I found this for my playlist!
I'm Italian, from Apulia, and omg I need her in Eurovision.
The song is kinda giving a southern italian party vibe, her other song "Che t'o dico a fa" also reminds me of that.
She's such a good singer and I hope she wins.
Btw for the staging, in Sanremo we usually have a staging like this, she would 100% improve it.

Madame wrote it and there so much of her...but the energy from Angelina brings it to another level. It should do very well in Eurovision (many votes from Eastern Europe, Turkey and Spain because of the eastern vibes)...rest to see where Sanremo's final decisional vote is going because there are many good entries this year.

Her father (Mango) is a famous singer from the 80's and sadly he died during a concert at the age of 60. On Friday (the night of cover songs) she will sing one of her father's song called La rondine. She totally deserves to win. She has an outstanding talent ❤

You need to listen to the cover she did "la rondine" , the song was written by her father, died during a concert when she was little. Make sure to check out the lyrics cause they change meaning and fits perfect with her "memorial" performance, she cryes out the song filled with grief for the loss of her father, it is moving

however, if you want to understand something more about Angelina Mango you should react to her performance at the Sanremo covers evening. Angelina sang La Rondine, in English the swallow, a beautiful song by her father Pino Mango who was a famous Italian singer who died of a heart attack during a concert just as Angelina, then thirteen years old, was present in the audience . that performance made all of Italy cry also because, in addition to the tribute to a fantastic dead artist by her daughter who was traumatized by that event, the lyrics of the song are already in themselves very emotional and poetic.
