46 year old skater here to - on a regular basis - goes skateboarding w. the kids (although at a more cautions level, obviously). Make sure you get some protective socks (like the Footprint Knee High Painkiller Shin Socks) and I highly recommend getting some vans sk8 hi pro (w. comfort cushioning); you won't regret it. Also, get a good board - don't skimp out on the hardware.

@@LickyMyNippy Exactly, that’s true. Plus it’s the Jonny show too. He’s the host and keeps the energy/comedy factor up.

I love how deceivingly easy these tricks look, but then you get to see just how hard they truly are moments later.

What a beautiful game of skate! Such a different vocabulary from street or vert. Really happy that w skaters like giger and Andy Anderson there seems to be a revival and reappreciation of this style of skating.

Being 57, Günter was surely part of the first wave of Skateboarders in Germany in the seventies. I remember doing pirouettes like that around 1980. It is interesting that younger generations never learned to use the kicktails in this way, to do waves to gain speed, do 180 and 360 degree turns, etc.

Funny how you missed the most important thing with the crouched nose manual; Gunther tucks his knee inwards and rests it on the lip of the board.
But geez, Günter is a beast. The consistency with which he nails his tricks, and the smoothness is incredible.
