I would like to start by thanking you for your generous reply to my question about your kamidana. If you ever read the translations of the videos you know that is almost impossible to understand anything. On listening to you, it sounded like it was something very special, and what I actually wanted to know was why it was different. So, when you told me it was 106 years old I understood very well your satisfaction. For sometime I lived in a quarter of our capital city, which is very close to the large Japanese quarters. There we can see a whole street full of shops that deal specially with making and selling kamidana. Often, there is a workshop at the back of the store where the artisans create them, ranging from simple models to large, artistic ones with intricate joinery work. Long before the existence of computers, I liked so very much when my mother bought food from Japanese merchants because it came wrapped in Japanese newspapers (Brazil had newspapers in Japanese printed in Japanese mainly directed to immigrants and their families) and then I could study, though all by myself, a little of the idiom and try copying some kanji. The image of kamidana is something very dear to a generation of Brazilian people who had contact with the descendents of the original immigrants. Today's visit impressed me very much. It is an ideal place for me. The very grounds seem to breath history and spirituality. Will watch it many times more, I'm sure. Thank you for your excellent work! 💛⛩️🙇🏻♂️💛🗾🙏🏻
Thank you for always visiting us. This kind of information is something you would never find out in Japan. Brazil has a large Japanese population, but I never imagined that they would even make Shinto altars there... It was a truly refreshing and pleasant surprise. I am very moved. My Shinto altar has the names of the three carpenters who built it written on the back. That also brings me great joy. It is still right beside me. They are always watching over me. Thank you for your blessings.
