Glad you are back. Missed your videos. And you show how to put them back together unlike some other channels. Why take your secrets to the grave with you? Makes no sense. Glad you share your knowledge with us all.
We have a 5R55N that locks up the torque converter too soon in 3rd gear with wide open throttle on the freeway. It also locks up too soon with city driving unless you are pushing it a bit more than average on acceleration. I'm told the solenoid pack needs to be replaced to fix this. I'm wondering if a Transgo kit will fix most function issues while the trans in the car vs remove and rebuild...currently 76,000 miles and on third fluid and filter change.
Yes, a Transgo kit or Superior kit both correct TCC issues. You can start there. Also the 5R55N are known for torque converter issues with TCC and something breaks inside causing a rattle noise. Lincoln LS and Jaguar.
@@AutomaticTransmission I went to a well known shop in the area and was told "better to do a kit when it gets an overhaul". My guess is, they didn't want to the shift kit upgrades because the labor isn't that much and it would keep me away from a rebuild.

Any advise on what a skipping 3rd condition may be? I've got the intermediate band adjust properly and the servo pin is perfect and its not ripped. And the servo bores have updated bushings in them. And it throws no codes. Its driving me nuts Its a 5r55s. And the shift solenoid B wire has ground signal at the solenoid pack plug. New solenoid pack too. No valves are hanging. New bands. New band anchors. Band anchors aren't backwards. Fluid isn't burnt at all and the clutches aren't burned either.
I have a code on my 5r55s we have completely rebuilt it start to finish on one of your videos I put a new torque converter in it and now I’m getting a p0732 code I’m thinking it’s possibly the bands but if you could give me any other ideas I would greatly appreciate it thanks love your vids there very helpful
If you have a torque wrench that reads in "inch pounds " , set the pin @ 72in.lbs. then back off 1 1/2 turns on both bands. The front one is for 2nd and 5th.

Glad to see you back man. Question on a 99 Trooper 4L30E, it had no engagement in D and l followed your instructions and adjusted the drive band, changed filter. It will go forward in 2w or 4wheel high in "winter" mode (starts off in 3rd gear) but in 4wheel low it drives perfect And shifts perfect full shift range in drive. Rebuild or shift solenoids? Thanks man!
How was the condition of the fluid? Usually the band gets burns causing a no forward issue. It usually starts with a shudder taking off then it quits moving forward unless you put it in winter mode. Shift solenoids are a common issue as well, if your fluid was good and didn't smell burnt you can start there. Do both at the same time.
Fluid was black, filter was in horrible condition. I've pumped 5 gallons of at through it, fill it, drive it drain it ( including pulling the front pan each time to get maximum drainage) then pump it full. I just don't really understand why it shifts fine in four wheel low but not in 2 or 4 high. I guess it's a rebuild then if it shifts fine in one range but not the others. Thanks man, and good lord it's nice to see you back posting content. I'm going to try rebuilding this myself, and that's because your videos have showed me what it takes!
In 4 low you take away more than 50% of the load. So if it's completely cold the band will hold and drive okay. Once it warm up it would slip. So basically without load it seems okay. But yeah, if the fluid was horrible it needs a rebuild. Also, ignition issues, like coils and plugs or any drive ability issues creating a lack of power condition will damage the torque converter and overheat the transmission. So if you know someone with a scope, or if you have one, spark KV should not go above 3kv and burn time no less than 1.5 ms. At idle. Do this after you've fixed your transmission. If you haven't started on it you can do it now.
This does drive perfectly. While I've never rebuilt a transmission (yet) l have rebuilt a lot of engines, l will take your good advice and test the spark, but there is no lack of power from this 3.3. I've actually driven this thing several hundred miles with this transmission as it is, never more than 20 miles at a time from the house though, lol. It's a strong ride, l like the feel of the vehicle, and I'll be going through your old videos looking for one on a 4L30E full rebuild. Thanks man, and enjoy your weekend.

I didn't notice that since I just recorded and uploaded it. I rarely go through the videos to edit. But yes, it's the recorded audio issue. I'll look into it to see what happened. Thanks for the heads up.
@@AutomaticTransmission it doesn’t bother me since your content is great. Also you taking time out of your day to video and post for people to learn. Thanks for that.

El ratio es diferente, te puede dar codigos de gear ratio error.
Does that mean I gotta rebuild the whole tranny ?
Either you have some audio issues or my ears are messed up this morning. I guess both are possible. 🤣🤣

No worries, most shops have air compressors and other equipment that will startup during any video.

That's better stay on the bench not on the computer. Ty
Since transmission repair not only consists of just changing Clutches you will be seeing both.
