It was a fairly short crossing. Had it been a (longer) crossing he 'probably' would have been swept away. The water was raging at 2 feet (24 inches) deep. At that depth with flowing water it could've potentially take out an SUV like that... The water was WAYYY above his ground clearance...and over his cab level actually.
@@JRWILDYso I did the estimation. Basing off your tires. The deepest part of the water level line was probably 24 inches (2 feet) deep. The splashing water over and above your tires doesn't count as the water line. Did you feel being swept a little bit or lose traction at all?? Did the water get into your cab?? 2 feet deep is above your cab... I have a 2013 Mercedes ML-350 4matic. German SUV as well similar to your Volkswagen Tourag. I have similar tire size to your Tourag. Me watching your video give me confidence of what I can do with my Mercedes ML-350. And my intake is pretty high up too.

Jimmy. I've owned this car for 7 years and know my car and what it can do. I know where the air intake is so that it doesn't suck water is. As a result I've been through lots of floods and help out in local villages using this car. It has a split rear door and have had people climb into it using the top split. So to call me stupid when I am out helping others is a bit ridiculous to be honest.

Not sure to be honest. Tyre size was 275/45/19. No there wasn't any markers unfortunately.
