    Do not do what i did. I got so excited about this video i rushed out and downloaded the tonemaster app on my ipad and iphone and started yelling profanities due to the app refusing to connect on bluetooth. Suddenly it dawned on me in my rush i totally forgot to download and update the firmware on the Tone Master Pro as well. after that everything went great

    To be fair...many of the competing modelers didn't have great initial launches. NDSP is famous for not delivering what they promised at launch for years - and those things are just NOW becoming available, more than 2 years after release. I think providing a significant update within 7 months of initial release is pretty good. I know there are many that don't like the EVH models in comparison to the real amps, but objectively they sound pretty good on their own. The Soldano sounds awesome. I think they are showing they are committed to the platform and there will be more great things to come.

    Great to see Fender making a big move to deliver sounds and improvements that justify the price of their flagship Modeler. Lots for their customers to be happy with their purchase. Some very good sounds there.
    It would be great to get an interview with Fender's Sound Designer to talk about this outstanding Update, and where they are moving for forward with their Modeler. Thanks

    I actually dig the tone on this. The first released version just sounded too thin and really "digital-ish" ro me.

    Random question - is there any unofficial way at all to rename the unit amps and effects to the real names?

  • @simonsmith2642
    @simonsmith2642 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Random. But I do that on my JC120. I turn on chorus or trem, so it enters that stereo spread, but I keep them down almost zero. Just for fullness, and stereo spread. I jumper channels too. Nice and juicy. If I did bigger fly in gigs. I would use an amp sim. Right now just in studio, so amplitube and tonex fill the job and budget. Im old so nobody is listening anyway 😂

      Also wondering this. With Helix, I can go to their website and see all of the different patches/presets that people have shared. I would love to have a similar page for the TMP. It is the one thing that gives me a bit of hesitation in pulling the trigger.
      Is it possible to view the artist section without having the TMP already?

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Because the same thing was and in some cases still is true of other modelers out there. They ripen with time, or not. Fender seems committed to updating this baby about every 6 months, with bug fixes in between. Compared with others, that seems legit.

    • @johnbeamon
      @johnbeamon 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Steve is a gear reviewer. He's also reviewed some stuff that was hopeless crap and never got updated. Apply this logic to any product anywhere that's ever received an update or bugfix. They all had to start somewhere.

    • @thomaskihr329
      @thomaskihr329 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I was subscribed to your channel but after you went to Fractal I unsubbed, I don't use Fractal, and never will use fractal after an experience with a group of Fractal acolytes lead by Scott Henderson. If this is the company you chose to represent than I don't want any part of it. I was looking for vids on the new firmware and you turned up, I'll watch this vid then probably never again. I wish you well for the future.

    • @SteveSterlacci
      @SteveSterlacci  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Vaughan. I respect everyone's opinion on their gear, but that issue has literally nothing to do with me and shouldn't be a reason to "leave". Im sorry you had a bad experience with their community. I have definitely had some myself. Moving on to current gear, I'm still using my HX XL on tours right now and have been regularly posting line 6 content. Fractal probably is the least represented modeler on this channel.

    G'day Steve. Hi from Australia. On the fence with buying one of these. In Aussie dollars these are F%&king expensive!! I've been holding out since last year and still using pedals and amp for covers gigs. Do you use in ears or foldback monitor while you're gigging??? Do I need to buy one of these?? Love your channel. Thanks, Mark.

    Hey Steve. Any chance Fender is going to put this out as a iOS iPad type only software? Also, you’re a brave man if you would trust some venue to have something like this ready for you in a condition that you would want to use instead of bringing your own. So hats off to your bravery, I’ve gone to where I’m only using an iPad and a back up Headrush MX5 and an audio interface and that way I can put everything in the gig bag. End it would be about time that fender gave you a chance to get your own presets in. Thanks for the video and the information and best regards and best wishes.
