Thanks for explaining this game so well. It sounds like it can be a polarising experience, but our family likes puzzles so I’ve decided to get this game based on your review. This video has been super helpful.
Thanks for the review! All valid thoughts. It's a cool simple but interesting puzzly game, with a strong emphasis on active cooperation and trading/sharing between players - useful for developing skills of cooperation and problem solving in young players. Nice "twist" of moving a boat and requirements of it being next to the tile you are placing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, the twist is good. I'd like to see a mechanic like that in a more complex game. It was fun. I also enjoy it when tiles have an orientation. That is a fun restriction to work within.
It’s great because it’s simple and it’s not so great because it’s simple, lol. That is very fair assessment. I feel so much better about not buying right now but if I buy it, I feel like I know what I am getting. Really loving your channel!
Exactly! It's nice. We often have people over who aren't into the hobby (yet). This has been a good option when we're not sure if a game with more rules would overwhelm them.
Yeah, solo it kinda feels like Klondike solitaire or something. You play the best you can with the tiles you draw, but if you play a good game, it's due more to good fortune than good skill. Much better with people, for sure.
Just got this for £6, looking forward ro playing, like you say its so easy breezy that it should be inviting for most of my non board game playing extended family.
@@theperfectboardgame same here really, we really enjoyed our first play, will definitely be adding in the other modules as it should make it a little deeper. Apparently there is an expansion coming out soon, will be intrigued to see what it might bring. I completely agree with what you said, it's just a nice simple game, no stress, almost a coffee table activity.
It great to see these collaberative/co-operative games that are easy to teach. A great way to introduce people to the fun of boardgaming.
Thanks again for this longer version of showcasing Beacon Patrol
Really great review and commentary and fair assessment👍
Thank you for your feedback! I do want to be fair.

I hope you like it. You’ve seen enough of my reviews to understand that this is quite different from what I normally play. But £6 is a great price.
