    Love Harley giving the finger when he’s pointing at the belt. Harley promos are grossly underrated.

      Alot of old timers used their middle finger as a pointer finger. And if memory serves "Harley said that was the finger you were required to point with in Japan.

      first off i grew up around more of these guys than your ever going to meet literally im from the Hart family I grew up in Auburn maine with Tony atlas (white) and his wife monica watching me while my dad was on the road so there is absolutely zero your going to tell me or show me about this thing you call a work that has hospitalized and ultimately killed more of my family and friends than you could ever imagine. Harley much like Paul orndorff are hard to get to know rough around the edges and won their fair share of street fights but when placed against people with a solid background being professionally trained in a lot of cases they lost in real fights this is where i come to this conclusion homie . bruiser would literally tear the majority of these guys apart in any type of actual fight. Your booker doesnt decide who wins they have one job to book the show and hire who needs to be where the booker and the wrighters are totally different your wrighter has to clear everything with the actual promoter your booker, promoter and wrighters are all separate people.

      Steve B Dick “The Brusier” held his own in a fight in a locker room against Brody. Harley Race (along with Nick Bockwinkel) would’ve destroyed Brody in a shoot. Brody pulled stuff on other territories, but the two above I just mentioned with power they have in their respected territories would reprimand Brody if he didn’t follow the finish.

    Race got over mostly on being tough enough to take your best and being just good enough a wrestler to turn the tide on you , but I never bought that he was the best wrestler in the world . That was lost when Jack Brisco burned out . Between Brisco and Junior there was a believeable rivalry for being recognized as the best wrestler in the world . Race struck me as a guy just good enough to be there but that he could be veaten in most of his matches . That was a change in focus . A lot of people came to Harley Races matches to see the title change hands which is a legitimate way to draw money but its not the same as to see who was the absolute best in the world . Don't get me wrong , Race was great . I just never thought of him as the greatest wrestler .

    • @donjohnson1498
      @donjohnson1498 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like your perspective. Jack and Jr. put on clinics. I thought Race was the most versatile NWA champion. He was tough, strong, technically sound, and good on the stick. He had a believable menace in his delivery. I also think he was best suited to be the traveling champion. He took on faces and heels, and enhanced them all. He even gave Bronco credibility in the ring lol.

    • @brianbazar917
      @brianbazar917 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never knew he took his mask off here! He put it back on and later lost it to Race a year or two later. Race unmasked him in the ring and i never saw him wear it again. He lost it the same night Chavo Guerrero lost his Jr Heavyweight title to Gino Hernandez. Halcon did a lot of six man matches with Mil Mascaras and Jose Lothario too.

    • @alejandromorales6383

    I love that the video from Houston in the late 70’s is such high quality. Like St. Louis, it is more of a promotion and not a territory. They had wrestlers from all over. Great stories in the ring and well set up. A little rough on the commentary from Boesch. Too bad Pritchard screwed them and sold the old man out.
