      My day job has been killing me! I have a ton of projects in the pipeline if I can ever get them filmed.

    I can definitely see the frustration 😮

    We go your email, and we have noticed that it was very detailed, and you pretty much explained everything you did precisely. What raised a red flag for us us that you used ATF+4, and not CVTF+4 (which is the mopar fluid). The regular ATF+4 is not for the CVT because it cannot hold up to the pressure requirements. Not saying this is your issue, but it is something that must be addressed.
    Also, do you have Mitchell or AllData because they show a step by step procedure for checking that code?

      My apologies, I used the CVTF+4 fluid That was a typo on my part. I have Identifix, and the next step in that direction would be to fabricate an adapter in order to physically measure the secondary pulley pressure with a high pressure gauge. But since both primary and secondary pulley pressures change in lockstep, it would seem unlikely that one of the 2 pressure sensors are bad. Thanks for responding :)

    I have a 2014 Patriot with the same P0777 code and I notice that when it goes into limp mode it is due to the overheating. I poured water on the transmission for cool down and it would run normal until the temperatures rise and back to limp mode. I am currently working on installing an external oil cooler and not sure to bypass the stock cooler at the moment. I will send an update once I complete the test.

      Thanks for watching! and I look forward to your update. Anytime an issue happens only when it's hot, you can be pretty sure that something is starting to expand and cause a leak. If the transmission is still original, and has not been recently overhauled, I would be looking at the flow control valve in the pump. You can get an aftermarket drop in valve that supposedly eliminates the sticking problem they have.

    I had a problem like this, it turned out to be the power steering cooling line was overheating and causing the computer to not let the truck take off, I temporary cut the line and looped it to keep the compression, but the whole line should be changed.

    Could it be the transmission pressure control solenoid

    I've got one in the shop with the same issue right now. Transmission has not been rebuilt, but originally we had more solenoid and stepper motor codes. We replaced valve body, new fluid and filter, and now we've got the same P0777 code. I'm wondering if the filter neck on the new filter is too long and touching the pan bottom. I've had this happen on some of the other Nissan CVT transmissions before. We had to cut the filter neck a bit shorter. Anyway just a thought. Haven't had a chance to pull this vehicle back in the shop but when we do I'll be sure to let you know if there's any progress.

      Actually disregard that thought on the filter. I just looked at a pic of the filter and it doesn't have the same neck as some of the other cvt filters like those found in Maximas and Pathfnders.

      Sounds like the root cause of your issue might be different than mine. Perhaps the flow control valve sticking in the pump. I got mine in with a broken belt so I have no idea how it was acting prior to failure, but noticed my issue after the overhaul. I'm posting the latest video, you may want to check it out as travel down the Hellish rabbit hole of this issue!

    This is bizzare! They really didn’t change much of anything in them much in the last few years. Mine is a 2015 with exactly the same trim pkg.!!! Did you ever figure this problem out?

    • @MacGyversWorkshop
      @MacGyversWorkshop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes I did. Apparently the replacement pumps that are available come 2 ways. One has a rubber o-ring gasket between the pump sections, and one designed for a later model does not. I got the ones without the o-ring seal, and they would start leaking when they got hot. losing pressure and triggering the code and limp mode.

    This is why most transmission shops do not rebuild CVT
