I think the popularity of coffee shop au, especially those less outstretched ones, may come from that sometimes we just wanna see these characters in a generally more everyday life and relationship-based setting, where all the complicated background or outside influence in the canon can take a rest while the main characters still remain their personalities. We can fully dive in the relationship itself, see how they would play out, how they would get together. It's much like a thought experiment in that sense.
I always love coffee shop au's cause they're a lot more chill then some other fics can be. Like things can just be a lot more chill. I especially love them in the 100 fandom cause they're often paired with university au's and I love those two together. As for a whole video on the coffee shop AU I think that's a great idea and would love to see one.
And because I want to share the love with the world here is my rec for the week. It's an ot3 fanfiction between Steve, Peggy and Bucky. It's called "Give Up The Ghost" by Chaneladdict. Count word: 323.549 Chapters: 55 Completed. In this story, the author plays with the idea of Peggy and bucky finding the way to live in a world without Steve by supporting Steve previous lover (each other), then when the relationship is set between the two of them Steve is found. So now the dynamics change into the three of them finding a way to fit into the relationship, each bringing a new aspect for the trio. It's great because it deals with them as a trio but each couple has something new to add to the dynamics, that being Bucky/Peggy, Steve/Bucky, Peggy/Steve.

I've red so many coffee shop AUs, but when the time comes to use that knowedge, my brain just goes blank. Anyways, for this weeks fic rec friday, I have a fic from the Carry on fandom, Large Black Coffee by BasicBatsheba It's rated G, no archive warning aply, its a Snowbaz fic, Coffee shop Au, it has an "insults on coffee cups" thing going on, Simon is a barista, word count 19,280. "Every day Baz comes in to get a coffee, and every day he finds a new insult on the cup" It's a really nice fic, by probably my favourite authour in the Carry on fandom, and it was the first fic of hers that I red, aaaand it fits with the videos theme.

I've never sought out Coffee Shop AUs specifically, but I've read them and enjoyed them when they've been recommended to me. Though considering the teashop fic mentioned above is my favourite, perhaps that is where my heart lies? Hm. 2. I need ALL the coffee shop AU recs. I'm definitely going to check out at least some of these (I need more korrasami fics to read so that was GREAT). 3. While I loved this video, I'd never say no to a video focusing on coffee shop AUs specifically, and explaining their appeal to people. :D I'd also love to hear more about how they were popularised by Stargate Atlantis! I hadn't heard about that before - but I suppose it's not so strange considering how much influence the Stargate fandom had on fanfiction. I love coffee shop au's ♥♥. One coffee shop fanfiction that I love is from the The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015) fandom and it's between Illya and Gaby called "Just My Type" by ceaselessyinlove. Word Count: 1982 Chapters: 1 Completed. In this fic, it is a modern coffee/college au where Illya is a Russian exchange student and has a crush on Gaby (who is the barista). Napoleon tags along one day and finds out that Illya hates coffee but keeps going just to see Gaby. Basically Illya is a awkward cinnamon roll and is best friends with Solo who totally ships gallya. The other one is from the Timeless show fandom which is between Garcia and Lucy called "Kava" by rories. Word Count: 1790. In this fic, Lucy is teaching at university and travels the same path everyday until one day she passes the smell of sugar and coffee and decides to visit the coffee shop.
OH, AND RECS! This is gonna be Coffee Shop and Podfic rec, actually. First Coffee Shop AU I read has remained one of my favourites. It's called I've Got Nothing To Do Today But Smile (The Only Living Boy in New York) by gyzym, and it's an Arthur/Eames (Inception) fic. It's an AU. Arthur is a lawyer. Eames owns a coffee shop. It features a lot of stressbaking involved. I remember reading it back on Livejournal, but recently rediscovered it on AO3. 19867 words, 1 chapter. *And* it also has an absolutely wonderful podfic, one of the first podfics I really loved, and I know the author also recommends that podfic a lot. It's definitely a very well-known Arthur/Eames fic, and it has tons of fanart for it. I just remembered my favorite Les Miserables fanfic ever, which was a coffee shop AU... that the author has since removed from the internet. I could cry I’m so sad. It was called The Syntax of Things and it was Courfeyrac/Jehan with side Enjolras/Grantaire. Courf owns the cafe and Jehan is the poetry loving customer he falls for. It might still be on the wayback machine but I’m not sure. I love coffee shop AUs and other modern fluff AUs in fandoms where the original story is really tragic like Les Mis, or when the original story is really gritty or dark or high fantasy. Sometimes it’s beautiful to see characters usually beset by angst and tragedy get to be happy and warm in a coffee shop with their love. I adore that.

also I have a rec! ‘Mindstones and Other Malfunctions’ by HunterPeverell on AO3, it’s 5 chapters and 21,014 words. it’s an post-Civil War MCU fic in which through some pretty much arbitrary circumstances, most of the Avengers end up going through a projection of a bunch of Bucky’s memories. Lots of really well-done angst ensues but also humor and a happy fluffy ending. Just beware of pretty much all Winter-Soldier related trauma and sadness and gore.

My rec for today, You are the poems I do not write by wordswithdragons. In AO3. This is the Hamilton fandom more especially Hamgelica pairing (Alexander/Angelica). It may not be the most popular of ships but its dear to my heart. The fic is a collection of one-shots from AUs to cannon abound, it is well written with some really effective parts in it. Only warning, the fics aren’t really dialogue based, so if that’s a problem for you, be warned. If you only read one the third one is my favorite, it’s an AU where Alexander married Angelica.
By the way there’s this amazing fic in AO3 of just the whole Hamilton musical reimagined with Angelica instead of Eliza, and I didn’t book mark it and I lost it. 😞😭 If you have the slightest idea of what fic that might be please let me know! Worst case scenario I don’t find but I can still have fun your recommendations!
Since the Coffee Shop AU always makes me think of Tokyo Ghoul, I'll be reccing a fic from that fandom. This fic is called Feathers & Thorns, by TsukiDaisy on AO3. Word count: 65,016, chapters 24. In this fic, a "cure" for ghoulism is found, but things aren't as perfect as they seem. After Hide is a attacked for defending former ghouls, Tsukiyama offers help to Kaneki, which leads to them being secluded away from trouble. But it's hard to ignore what's happening back in Tokyo. The pairing for this fic is Kaneki Ken/Nagachika Hideyoshi/Tsukiyama Shuu. Warnings for smut, gore, vore, torture, canon-typical violence and cannibalism.
great video as always. You should consider doing a video dedicated to ot3 and love triangles, and how sometimes the ot3 is the best answer for a love triangle, like cap, Peggy and Bucky. Or when in a love triangles you need to choose, which one should be the one, like the hunger games or throne of glass, Archie comics, the vampire diaries so many of them that can be discussed if the paring that results from the show was really the best out of the two or i don't know i'd love for you to make an ot3 episode. (They are my new found obsession HAHA)

I'm all over the coffee shop hipster trend and all that jazz lol (I LOVE spending times in coffee shops, just drawing and reading. So relaxing). Coffee shop AUs are like a glass of warm milk, they are my comfort fic cliche 2) I'm more into coffee shops than tea shops, simply because I just really love coffee in any way, shape or form lol 3) I'd love a dedicated video for coffee shop AUs, it would be interesting to go deeper on where the cliche comes from and why is it so popular, and maybe some common variations of it... I love coffee au's, my favorite type of fic recs ever. I have an coffee shop au fic that I wan't to share and it is part of the Shadowhunters fandom from Cassandra Clare's book. I don't know if you heard of the fandom, or the book series The Mortal Instruments, with companion series The Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices and the 2016 TV show Shadowhunters based on it. But here I go. The fic is more of a alternate universe- coffee shops & Cafe's with the coffee shop au troupe fic. It's called something brewing between us by thankyouforexisting for dinosaurfangirl and is from the Dark Artifices, words: 5,610, chapters: 1/1. The story is about the Blackthorn family's coffee shop and how the main characters for the fic Ty Blackthorn, and he's autistic in the books and also in this fic, and Kit Rook meet due to working at both their family's coffee shop that are across from each other and their supposed enemy status on Ty's part, and some of the rest of the plot of the story escapes me, and there interaction's from suposed enemies again on Ty's side and potential love interests and by the the end of the story as boyfriend's. This fic is full of fluff, pining, bad pick up lines, sweetness, bad puns, first kiss and humor combined. I love the Thunderbirds and Star Trek Next Generation and every fandom out there by the way.
Actually I am kinda slowly reading a fic along these lines, though it is more an English Pub fic. It's a Harry Potter/MCU crossover where, after the end of the HP book events Harry left Britain and moved to New York and opened an English pub. He gets involved in the Battle of New York (the first Avengers movie), acting as a superhero. Actually it doesn't seem to have a pairing, and it draws in some comics-verse details, like Squirrel Girl, Gwen Stacy, She Hulk, plus the MCU TV shows.
I have been reading Wonder WomanxBatman fics all week because I rewatched BvS and caught some shipping feels of my first OTP that I had since a kid watching the Justice League animated series. And one I read was so good I knew I would leave a comment. It's a series one called Countdown by MiaLyn, the first part called One Date that has 2 chapters followed by Five Dates which has 10 and counting, I believe it is being updated weekly. It is a high school AU that also does not include superpowers and such, however, it translates many elements very uniquely and excellently. My favorite is how young Bruce connects with the batfamily, it's just real cute. It also includes Diana being bisexual and having had a previous relationship with one of the "Amazons". There's also great cameos of many DC characters and a mystery that is very engaging, though you have to get to Five Dates to really see it play out. My fic rec today is: 2 AM Knows All Secrets. It has the ship KiriBaku from My Hero Academia. It has a rather mature theme to the story and it's just an overall beautiful story that helps one character with his PTSD about an event that happened. [It's on AO3 btw]

Love these videos! My rec is from the Kingsman fandom, but there's also elements from Doctor Who used as part the plot, so it's sort of a crossover fic. The fic is called "I blinked (and there you were)" by Della19 on ao3. Ship: Harry/Eggsy. Three chapters, word count: 19,894. I don't want to spoil too much, but this fic features Eggsy being trapped back in time by weeping angels and eventually meeting Harry when he applied to be a Kingsman agent. There are a lot of cool cameos and even a very well written OC that feels like they slip into the cast seamlessly. There's also lots of references to the first film in there. One of my favorite series is a Supernatural coffee shop time travel mix, and it's a Sabriel fic. Summary goeth thusly - Sam Winchester is given a chance to go back in time and change things for the better, but he wakes up further back than he would have ever dared to hope. Only days have passed in this timeline since the fight that had him hitchhiking to California. Now he has four years at Stanford University to prepare for seeing his brother and hunting again. But things will be different this time, and not just because Sam is taking courses that will help him in hunting. He's making the strangest assortment of friends, finding allies in tricksters, witches, demons, and nature spirits. And that's without even looking at Loki. And... his kids. Being a Winchester has always brought with it the strangest of oddities and the worst of luck, but this might be the adventure that takes the cake. McShep would have to be my OTP. My favourite type of troupe would have to be the canon divergent, ones that follow the canon but add in new elements. I’ve been wondering What are your thoughts on real person ships? I quite enjoy the J2 fandom but I prefer to read the AUs and look at the pairing more like characters rather than real people. I know this can be a touchy subject for some and have seen a lot of hate in this area of fandom.
I would love to see video about Coffee Shop AU! My personally favorite Coffee Shop AU fic is The Book of Mormon fanfic Rags to rags (archiveofourown.org/works/4758146). It's one of those fics where the characters are not removed from the canon world. It's set post-canon, Kevin works at Starbucks to make some money and one day his ex-district-leader comes to buy a cup of coffee and Kevin slowly realizes that he might have feelings for him (it's also nice exploration of demisexuality).
Ok so Im suggesting a Reylo (and slight stormpilot) AU fic called Satan Wears A Rolex by AquaWolfGirl where Rey works as a writer at General Fashion Magazine and Kylo Ren is the Editor-In-Chief, and Rey decides to become his new assistant. Its essentially the Reylo spinoff of the Devil Wears Prada.

Love a good au fic, I admit I prefer a bookstore au over coffeeshop aus but I’ll still check a couple of these out. Can I rec a house MD crossover with Dead Like Me that I read (and reread) a decade ago and still think of when talking about aus: For Every Closed Door by starlingthefool on livejournal. House becomes a reaper but you know that house/Wilson is endgame and not even slight undead-ness will stop it. Also Presque Vu by rageprufrock on ao3 which is a brilliant Inception prequel fic that does a lot of worldbuilding and character work and kind of took camp in my brain as background for the film.
Oh and I've got a fic rec for this theme - my absolute favorite Sabriel fic - "Special" by rosethomass (orphan_account)/ 5 Chapters /Word count 51314. It super sweet, everybody is in character, and Sam has an autistic daughter. I love how autism is depicted, and that Sam is a parent. Also it deals with Sam truly loving Jess but letting go and finding new happiness which is always a good thing in my book. Gabriel is shown with more depth than in most coffee shop sabriel fics which is also nice. So if you're looking for something heart warming - check it out :)

For a rec, I’m going to give you Bar(Tender) by NohaIgiachi from the My Hero Academia fandom on AO3, a TodoDeku fic in which Todoroki discovers that his mother used to have a job she loved as a bartender, and discovers a passion and ends up opening a bar against his dad’s wishes like she wanted to do. It becomes incredibly popular among the pro heroes and eventually Midoriya walks in. They flirt, Todoroki thirsts because Deku is Built, and romance ensues. It’s two chapters with 18,748 words and is complete.

Cant get the full word count cause I'm on mobile, but it's pretty short being 3k+ words. It's a historically accurate fic about, well, Canada taking Vimy Ridge. Although it does use the official non-canon human names. And unlike canon it is not funny.

I, um... love that fic a lot. Even recced it before. It's one of *those* fics for me, one I come back to over and over to reread every now and then. Comfort zone fic, I suppose.
1. I've never sought out Coffee Shop AUs specifically, but I've read them and enjoyed them when they've been recommended to me. Though considering the teashop fic mentioned above is my favourite, perhaps that is where my heart lies? Hm.
2. I need ALL the coffee shop AU recs. I'm definitely going to check out at least some of these (I need more korrasami fics to read so that was GREAT).
3. While I loved this video, I'd never say no to a video focusing on coffee shop AUs specifically, and explaining their appeal to people. :D I'd also love to hear more about how they were popularised by Stargate Atlantis! I hadn't heard about that before - but I suppose it's not so strange considering how much influence the Stargate fandom had on fanfiction.

I love coffee shop au's ♥♥. One coffee shop fanfiction that I love is from the The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015) fandom and it's between Illya and Gaby called "Just My Type" by ceaselessyinlove.
Word Count: 1982 Chapters: 1 Completed. In this fic, it is a modern coffee/college au where Illya is a Russian exchange student and has a crush on Gaby (who is the barista). Napoleon tags along one day and finds out that Illya hates coffee but keeps going just to see Gaby. Basically Illya is a awkward cinnamon roll and is best friends with Solo who totally ships gallya.
The other one is from the Timeless show fandom which is between Garcia and Lucy called "Kava" by rories. Word Count: 1790. In this fic, Lucy is teaching at university and travels the same path everyday until one day she passes the smell of sugar and coffee and decides to visit the coffee shop.
OH, AND RECS! This is gonna be Coffee Shop and Podfic rec, actually. First Coffee Shop AU I read has remained one of my favourites. It's called I've Got Nothing To Do Today But Smile (The Only Living Boy in New York) by gyzym, and it's an Arthur/Eames (Inception) fic. It's an AU. Arthur is a lawyer. Eames owns a coffee shop. It features a lot of stressbaking involved. I remember reading it back on Livejournal, but recently rediscovered it on AO3. 19867 words, 1 chapter. *And* it also has an absolutely wonderful podfic, one of the first podfics I really loved, and I know the author also recommends that podfic a lot. It's definitely a very well-known Arthur/Eames fic, and it has tons of fanart for it.

I just remembered my favorite Les Miserables fanfic ever, which was a coffee shop AU... that the author has since removed from the internet. I could cry I’m so sad. It was called The Syntax of Things and it was Courfeyrac/Jehan with side Enjolras/Grantaire. Courf owns the cafe and Jehan is the poetry loving customer he falls for. It might still be on the wayback machine but I’m not sure. I love coffee shop AUs and other modern fluff AUs in fandoms where the original story is really tragic like Les Mis, or when the original story is really gritty or dark or high fantasy. Sometimes it’s beautiful to see characters usually beset by angst and tragedy get to be happy and warm in a coffee shop with their love. I adore that.

it’s an post-Civil War MCU fic in which through some pretty much arbitrary circumstances, most of the Avengers end up going through a projection of a bunch of Bucky’s memories. Lots of really well-done angst ensues but also humor and a happy fluffy ending. Just beware of pretty much all Winter-Soldier related trauma and sadness and gore.

My rec for today, You are the poems I do not write by wordswithdragons. In AO3. This is the Hamilton fandom more especially Hamgelica pairing (Alexander/Angelica). It may not be the most popular of ships but its dear to my heart.
The fic is a collection of one-shots from AUs to cannon abound, it is well written with some really effective parts in it. Only warning, the fics aren’t really dialogue based, so if that’s a problem for you, be warned.
If you only read one the third one is my favorite, it’s an AU where Alexander married Angelica.
By the way there’s this amazing fic in AO3 of just the whole Hamilton musical reimagined with Angelica instead of Eliza, and I didn’t book mark it and I lost it. 😞😭

Since the Coffee Shop AU always makes me think of Tokyo Ghoul, I'll be reccing a fic from that fandom.
This fic is called Feathers & Thorns, by TsukiDaisy on AO3. Word count: 65,016, chapters 24. In this fic, a "cure" for ghoulism is found, but things aren't as perfect as they seem. After Hide is a attacked for defending former ghouls, Tsukiyama offers help to Kaneki, which leads to them being secluded away from trouble. But it's hard to ignore what's happening back in Tokyo.
The pairing for this fic is Kaneki Ken/Nagachika Hideyoshi/Tsukiyama Shuu. Warnings for smut, gore, vore, torture, canon-typical violence and cannibalism.
great video as always. You should consider doing a video dedicated to ot3 and love triangles, and how sometimes the ot3 is the best answer for a love triangle, like cap, Peggy and Bucky. Or when in a love triangles you need to choose, which one should be the one, like the hunger games or throne of glass, Archie comics, the vampire diaries so many of them that can be discussed if the paring that results from the show was really the best out of the two or i don't know i'd love for you to make an ot3 episode. (They are my new found obsession HAHA)

1) I LOVE COFFEE SHOP AUS. Maybe because I'm addicted to coffee myself. I'm all over the coffee shop hipster trend and all that jazz lol (I LOVE spending times in coffee shops, just drawing and reading. So relaxing). Coffee shop AUs are like a glass of warm milk, they are my comfort fic cliche 2) I'm more into coffee shops than tea shops, simply because I just really love coffee in any way, shape or form lol 3) I'd love a dedicated video for coffee shop AUs, it would be interesting to go deeper on where the cliche comes from and why is it so popular, and maybe some common variations of it... As for my recommendation... Here's the Zootopia Coffee Shop AU I mentioned in the stream chat =P : "baby you don't have to rush" by weatheredlaw (it's shippy, and yes, it's furry, but it's G. Cutesy, not explicit. In case that squeaks you out)
I love coffee au's, my favorite type of fic recs ever. I have an coffee shop au fic that I wan't to share and it is part of the Shadowhunters fandom from Cassandra Clare's book. I don't know if you heard of the fandom, or the book series The Mortal Instruments, with companion series The Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices and the 2016 TV show Shadowhunters based on it.
But here I go. The fic is more of a alternate universe- coffee shops & Cafe's with the coffee shop au troupe fic. It's called something brewing between us by thankyouforexisting for dinosaurfangirl and is from the Dark Artifices, words: 5,610, chapters: 1/1.
The story is about the Blackthorn family's coffee shop and how the main characters for the fic Ty Blackthorn, and he's autistic in the books and also in this fic, and Kit Rook meet due to working at both their family's coffee shop that are across from each other and their supposed enemy status on Ty's part, and some of the rest of the plot of the story escapes me, and there interaction's from suposed enemies again on Ty's side and potential love interests and by the the end of the story as boyfriend's. This fic is full of fluff, pining, bad pick up lines, sweetness, bad puns, first kiss and humor combined. I love the Thunderbirds and Star Trek Next Generation and every fandom out there by the way.
Actually I am kinda slowly reading a fic along these lines, though it is more an English Pub fic. It's a Harry Potter/MCU crossover where, after the end of the HP book events Harry left Britain and moved to New York and opened an English pub. He gets involved in the Battle of New York (the first Avengers movie), acting as a superhero. Actually it doesn't seem to have a pairing, and it draws in some comics-verse details, like Squirrel Girl, Gwen Stacy, She Hulk, plus the MCU TV shows.

I have been reading Wonder WomanxBatman fics all week because I rewatched BvS and caught some shipping feels of my first OTP that I had since a kid watching the Justice League animated series. And one I read was so good I knew I would leave a comment. It's a series one called Countdown by MiaLyn, the first part called One Date that has 2 chapters followed by Five Dates which has 10 and counting, I believe it is being updated weekly. It is a high school AU that also does not include superpowers and such, however, it translates many elements very uniquely and excellently. My favorite is how young Bruce connects with the batfamily, it's just real cute. It also includes Diana being bisexual and having had a previous relationship with one of the "Amazons". There's also great cameos of many DC characters and a mystery that is very engaging, though you have to get to Five Dates to really see it play out. It's great

My fic rec today is: 2 AM Knows All Secrets. It has the ship KiriBaku from My Hero Academia. It has a rather mature theme to the story and it's just an overall beautiful story that helps one character with his PTSD about an event that happened. [It's on AO3 btw]

Love these videos! My rec is from the Kingsman fandom, but there's also elements from Doctor Who used as part the plot, so it's sort of a crossover fic. The fic is called "I blinked (and there you were)" by Della19 on ao3. Ship: Harry/Eggsy. Three chapters, word count: 19,894. I don't want to spoil too much, but this fic features Eggsy being trapped back in time by weeping angels and eventually meeting Harry when he applied to be a Kingsman agent. There are a lot of cool cameos and even a very well written OC that feels like they slip into the cast seamlessly. There's also lots of references to the first film in there. (Note: this was written before the second film was released.) I highly recommend.

One of my favorite series is a Supernatural coffee shop time travel mix, and it's a Sabriel fic. Summary goeth thusly -
Sam Winchester is given a chance to go back in time and change things for the better, but he wakes up further back than he would have ever dared to hope. Only days have passed in this timeline since the fight that had him hitchhiking to California. Now he has four years at Stanford University to prepare for seeing his brother and hunting again.
But things will be different this time, and not just because Sam is taking courses that will help him in hunting. He's making the strangest assortment of friends, finding allies in tricksters, witches, demons, and nature spirits.
And that's without even looking at Loki. And... his kids.

McShep would have to be my OTP. My favourite type of troupe would have to be the canon divergent, ones that follow the canon but add in new elements. I’ve been wondering What are your thoughts on real person ships? I quite enjoy the J2 fandom but I prefer to read the AUs and look at the pairing more like characters rather than real people. I know this can be a touchy subject for some and have seen a lot of hate in this area of fandom.

I would love to see video about Coffee Shop AU! My personally favorite Coffee Shop AU fic is The Book of Mormon fanfic Rags to rags (archiveofourown.org/works/4758146). It's one of those fics where the characters are not removed from the canon world. It's set post-canon, Kevin works at Starbucks to make some money and one day his ex-district-leader comes to buy a cup of coffee and Kevin slowly realizes that he might have feelings for him (it's also nice exploration of demisexuality).

Ok so Im suggesting a Reylo (and slight stormpilot) AU fic called Satan Wears A Rolex by AquaWolfGirl where Rey works as a writer at General Fashion Magazine and Kylo Ren is the Editor-In-Chief, and Rey decides to become his new assistant. Its essentially the Reylo spinoff of the Devil Wears Prada.

Love a good au fic, I admit I prefer a bookstore au over coffeeshop aus but I’ll still check a couple of these out.
Can I rec a house MD crossover with Dead Like Me that I read (and reread) a decade ago and still think of when talking about aus: For Every Closed Door by starlingthefool on livejournal. House becomes a reaper but you know that house/Wilson is endgame and not even slight undead-ness will stop it.
Also Presque Vu by rageprufrock on ao3 which is a brilliant Inception prequel fic that does a lot of worldbuilding and character work and kind of took camp in my brain as background for the film.
Sastiel always made me more curious than most main ships lol
Oh and I've got a fic rec for this theme - my absolute favorite Sabriel fic - "Special" by rosethomass (orphan_account)/ 5 Chapters /Word count 51314.
It super sweet, everybody is in character, and Sam has an autistic daughter. I love how autism is depicted, and that Sam is a parent. Also it deals with Sam truly loving Jess but letting go and finding new happiness which is always a good thing in my book. Gabriel is shown with more depth than in most coffee shop sabriel fics which is also nice. So if you're looking for something heart warming - check it out :)

For a rec, I’m going to give you Bar(Tender) by NohaIgiachi from the My Hero Academia fandom on AO3, a TodoDeku fic in which Todoroki discovers that his mother used to have a job she loved as a bartender, and discovers a passion and ends up opening a bar against his dad’s wishes like she wanted to do. It becomes incredibly popular among the pro heroes and eventually Midoriya walks in. They flirt, Todoroki thirsts because Deku is Built, and romance ensues. It’s two chapters with 18,748 words and is complete.
Yeah! I always love some Coffee/Tea shop AU. I don't know if someone ask this question before: Do you read shipping fic with OC involve? And if yes, do you have any rec? Sometimes I must say that I love a character and I want Her/Him to be in love but that character doesn't have any chemistry with canon character and OC character are the only thing that fit in.

I've read a coffee shop au where someone owned a coffee shop, and was going to college. Like where do you have time? Why do you need money for school? How did you have time to fall in love with a mafia boss to get money for school? You own one of the most popular coffee shops! Like, I like ALL those tropes... just makes no sense together!
Also a rec not coffee shop au or anything. Not really an au and in honour of Remembrance Day coming up soon - Canada: Taking on Vimey Ridge by LittlestTrainWreck on Fanfiction. It's a Hetalia Fanfic. Cant get the full word count cause I'm on mobile, but it's pretty short being 3k+ words. It's a historically accurate fic about, well, Canada taking Vimy Ridge. Although it does use the official non-canon human names. And unlike canon it is not funny.

It popped up on Rarepair Gre'thor (it's on Tumblr), and on a whim I checked it out. It's really sweet, if a bit sad at the end since the story largely sticks to canon.

I'm a little confused about the difference between coffee shop and tea-shop fics. Or are they the same thing?
Same deal only instead of coffee it's tea being served, and all the necessary changes to the description that brings. There are also different attitudes towards coffee and tea as drinks, but the core principle is the same.
Does anyone have a good coffee rec for Shenny, Lucaya or Eleanor/Chidi or Michael/Eleanor from The Good Place? Actually, I'll just take any fic recs for the latter :-) ( sorry I don't know their ship names!)
