The town of Calumpit in Bulacan celebrates its Pistang Bayan on the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist - June 24, 2023. The vibe is that of a typical "Barrio Fiesta" - elderly and middle-aged women in Filipinana uniforms, dancing the pandanggo while accompanied by brass bands; a busy tiangge around the church plaza; and salu-salo in every home.
