    If you're looking for Glen Campbell, you'll be disappointed. Imperfect human, warts and all just happens to give us great sounds, songs and coolest performances. He never worked onstage doing karaoke with canned music (like many singers did). He and his bands worked harder in one hour on stage than most of us do in a week. He *organically* delivered and had done so for over two decades. I appreciate his art and talent and by all accounts, he was also a very nice human being.

      In his death I learned more about my life and my eventual death. Can't explain it but I am comforted by his kindness and frank nature. Like any of those tough guys always had rules despite being a bit rough around the edges. Yeah but nothing lol get em Willy

      It's not always leaving damage or causing big problems.. I'm a woman from Holland and I used for around 30 years, and I just worked, lived life and had fun. I have to say that I love weed more and I always stuck to it since my teens, so the heroin was less important. I take methadone for a long time, so you don't get sick from the heroin use, and because of that I could easily hold a day job. Later on I got hooked on crack too, but because I didn't have loads of money, (I had to pay rent and food too) I couldn't smoke more than 2 packages a day, 1 brown, 1 white, or a few times a week when I had less money. What I mean to say is, not everybody has problems with their drug use, most people around them don't even know about their use. I know a lot of people (I live in a small town up North) who have jobs and families, and also use heroin/crack, and doing it for years. Most of them don't use in front of their children, so they go to a bedroom to smoke their stuff...

    Mink DeVille was one of the greatest bands OF ALL TIME and I loved Willy but he had the meanest, nastiest girlfriend (named Toots) back in the 70's. She was awful. We couldn't stand her. He must've known how terrible she was to other people. So for him to be talking about being nice to other people is a bit ...hypocritical. But RIP Willy. We loved you!!

    • @Mrariesdave
      @Mrariesdave 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I beg to differ. Toots was a close personal friend of mine and not 'mean' to those she loved, though she had many reasons to be violent to many; she obviously couldn't stand you. Granted, she was bad for business, especially when they both became addicted to drugs, and she alienated many from Mick Jagger to Bette Midler who could have helped Willy go to the top. Toots was the ultimate sneering punk, smashing a cigarette in some groupie's eye and smashing a drink in someone's face, but she was intelligentsia, an artiste who had no patience for 'grownups' and 'squares'.

    ...and you perhaps could start by not judging people you don't even know, by not summing them up with such insulting and dispectful labels as 'another burned out heroin user', and most of all by not assuming what they are 'thinking'. Just who the hell do you think you are? Get over yourself.

    So that cigarette is giving him "power". Maybe. Trying to justfyhis decadent life as being a messenger of "goodness". I think what he's trying to explain is that the lust for status sidetracks many. Did he live an exemplary life? Was he "kind" to the girl who hanged herself after he said he was leaving her for another woman? I'll let his fans answer that question. Oh, and if he wore shorter locks he'd have more time to do good instead of having to brush those locks away from his eyes.

      Or did Lisa find old pictures of Karl, Willy's friend from the '70s, and hang herself when she saw that she was only a cheap and inferior imitation? After all, how could a female ever compete with a male lover?

We all have a dark side that should stay dark. And all of our artists need to be held as sacred, not trashed because they don't fit into the 'moral' social order.

    no, there's no such thing as common conscience. And people are not born good - we're all born defected which is original sin inheritance. That's why it's much easier to do evil things than good things in life. This man is completely brainwashed. He was a Roman Catholic but apparently never got the time to learn what the Catholic Church really teaches, he started looking himself and eventually pursuing his own ideas which are false. It's so common among artists, who fall into empty pride and want to be treated like gods. Beware and never go this lane

It takes practice tand effor to overcome one's own selfishness and self centeredness. It takes effort to understand the world is not me centric and is about helping others.
