He absolutely feels like “shut up coach, I got it” but they are probably in his ear telling him where to go with the ball. It’s similar to Greg Roman with Lamar. In three years you should be able to read pre and post snap defenses, coverages and such and feel comfortable making progression reads in offenses. The fact that he says it's confusing and stifling him shows he isn't doing his part to catch up with his learning and not the coaches.

He's had three years to pick up on the game. "Paralysis by Analysis" shouldn't be a thing for every other play in a game. Other young QBs in the league are in the same exact boat and they're not struggling of the point of Fields throwing the ball and making progression as an NFL QB. Sometimes you have to breakdown the problem to its basics....and rebuild the player from the ground up. Making sure you don't lose the player and make him understand you have his back. You have to have a plan, and the plan can’t be go get open and watch the QB run around. He’s had 2 sets of coaches so far, he’s played in 27 games and he’s got 5 wins. You can’t play his game in the NFL and win rings, defenses are too good, players are too fast and D coordinators will eat you up if you’re one dimensional. The organization has its part, but they’ve changed coaches one got the same result. You’re basically saying dozens of other coaches have failed poor Justin Fields, that’s ridiculous and you know it

The Ohio State QB thing is overblown. Urban Meyer had runners and game managers until Haskins (RIP). Then Fields took over and Stroud. One's a rookie and the other a very young player. Chicago's offensive line isn't healthy and their offensive playcalling isn;t ver good. There are some breakdowns on TH-cam showing how poorly conceived and executed their offensive approch looks. If Fields went to San Fran who knows how god he'd be.

@@Aaron-sv1rm I didn’t see an issue with it. It’s honest and everyone knows it. And I agree with it only because none of the coaches took blame until he said that. Before it was “ well we need to execute better” meaning it’s Justin’s fault. Not play calling or anything. When Flus was asked about the two screen pass calls he basically said “ it is what it is” “ it’s a high percentage play either way” that’s not accepting any blame at all. But it’s wild they’re bending over backwards to make everyone and everything else at fault.

He's not talking about the playbook, he's talking about all the little corrections, stand this way, elbow up, do this don't do that. which is great during practice, but on game day that comes natural or it doesn't, and either way he just needs to trust his reads and go. that he hasn't done that is on him, which is what he said.
