    It could also be the injector seal leaking compression in cylinder 2

      would make sense tbh u can lose like 10-15psi from it

      yup, thought the same thing but didn't hear anything. I put an ear towards the injector when I redid cylinder 2 and didn't hear anything.

    Just saw this channel after having bad day getting my rusty corroded rear brake line but this video made me feel little better now lol! I'm in processing swapping out with new completely upgraded rear-end for my 335.

      I've also delt with a rusty corroded rear brake line on my old e46, so I can sympathise. it's brutal.
      glad you feel better now, it's taken me a while to recover.
      😅

    Does it really matter that the hoses on solenoids were installed backwards? Aren't those just solenoids that let the air flow trough them, so it shouldn't matter which way you install them?

      Pay close attention to what he is saying. One solenoid has the input and output correctly routed, while the other has the input and output backwards (improperly routed). Its a big problem the way it was routed because one solenoid is fighting the progress of the other and creating a huge mess. They have to go a certain way to utilize the vacuum from the canisters and apply that vacuum to the wastegates, if you do it the other way around on both you are trying to apply vacuum from the turbo to the canisters which is not the desired function, we are trying to control the turbo, not the canisters.

    It’s always the rear turbo. Every rear turbo drain gasket has leaked that I’ve seen. Two with my own experience.

    • @PartiBuoy
      @PartiBuoy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think people forget to add new turbo lines they have to be replaced. But the gasket is metal so red rtv??

    • @PartiBuoy
      @PartiBuoy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Something really bad about twins is the lines. I have seen too many rear turbo drains drip oil. And it’s just an expansion issue. But the best case I’ve seen is a car that consumed no oil for 3k miles. And it would drip oil when it cools off with expansion and seals itself when it’s warm

    • @PartiBuoy
      @PartiBuoy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But if you’re following me if a turbo line drips it’s because it needs to be replaced. However it will expand and seal and work properly under heat. So that’s why it needs to be replaced. Also this has everything to do with why you need to change and top off oil every 3-4K miles. I could put a brand new turbo lines on and a month later they will drip some excess in in the turbo

      the twins aren't a great design unfortunately, many issues with them regardless. going single it converts everything back to a more normal school way of control.

    well that looks like an engine out & total refresh..atleast that was my thought before finding the low compression in #2. now i would rip it out & swap in one with lower k's. i say that because im not comfortable its that big of a discrepancy in the #s
    great content as usual! im the same, no bodge/halfass jobs.. all or nadda

      absolutely, exactly what I'm doing with the 135i. may as well do it properly or not at all. ironically it'll be about the same amount of time too.

      absolutely, it's the best way to be. unfortunately, far too many people and businesses would sell out for very little.
