Its Got to be the MUM's after hearing All the Reviews! I Really Wish They Made some MUM Headphones- Hint Hint!! Cheers 🔊🎩🎼🎵🎧
@@jonathanrichard6881 Haha that would be fun! Immensely difficult... but fun!
love how much mark and james have come on since the inception of their channel, and really seem to be having fun making videos l
That's very kind, thank you so much! We appreciate you! :)
@@PresentDayProduction And to make Warren have goosebumps and tears in his eyes……damn, those 10’s must be phenomenal……way out of my price range, but I have to come and take a listen to them at some point, they seem amazing from Warrens reactions.
@@TechnoAssassin-vx6zf if you’re anywhere near us, you’re always very welcome to come and have a listen, and if you’re not near us, I’m sure there is someone near you!
Yes! So much fun making videos with Mark and James!
@@PresentDayProduction marvellous!
I LOVE that Warren's first words out of the vault is "Hello! Are you doing marvelously well?" ❤
Yes! Thank you! Hahahaha
That intro was brilliant fellas. lol
🤣🤣🤣💯👍🏿👍🏿‼️
Glad you enjoyed it! haha
The Intro😂😂😂...This boy has so much taste and knowledge of music that it makes me dizzy... Great video Warren! I've been following you for so long and I just want to say thank you and please keep it up!!! Your work is Seen and appreciated Much Love🎸🙏
Aw shucks! Thanks ever so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Good to see you and the boys in one space!
absolutely legendary lads thank you all!!!! intro was tremendous as ever 🤣🤩🙌🫶✨👐
Glad you enjoyed it
Ok, only watched the intro, but that's a great entry, literally.
that intro was as epic as it ever could be!
they killed it! 👏🏻
LOVED that intro! When the guys suggested it I said 'YES!!'
@@WillieFourMilli so much fun!!
That intro was Maavelous!
Haha thanks ever so much!
this intro is so good!!! good job guys! 👏🏻
yeah thats why I think they are now having a lot of fun with their videos nowadays, much more comedic elements, and now looks like fun for themselves making them. Really nice to see the channel grow from the beginning to where they are now.
Thanks ever so much Willie!
Best videos on TH-cam. Both funny and very interesting talk about overall world of audio. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks ever so much
That intro was hilarious 😂 and you three seem to gel and genuinely get on famously... Warrens stank face when listening is the true feelometer... those MUM-10s 😍😋
The boys are back in town! Great vid guys! :-)
I keep on hearing "my mates" and "my mate", hahaha. :P "Mum's mate" lol
I'm subbed to those guys. Could never remember the channel name, but i was very entertained when i binged their videos
same! i would just search for videos i knew they did because i couldn't remember the channel name. 😂
I remember in the 80's we all had 3 way speakers for our hifi system, and then it changed early 90's to 2 way with a port on the back. And I always preferred the sound with the 3 way. I know that's not like in the studio, but maybe it is! I guess maybe it's because i love Hard rock and love midrange! Those look awesome!
I don't believe that Warren is asking 'dumb questions" for his benefit (I'm sure he knows more than he is saying) - but he is asking on behalf of most of us that don't know what he knows and don't have the same experience. As always a fantastic video from Warren and PLAP.
Ohwww yes!! More reference tracks please! (playlist on tidal maybe?) That Alon Mor track is insane! Big thanks
Hi Warren, I love these guys, they are so down-to-earth with a great sense of humor.
I also really liked that you went a little more specific in explaining what you hear in the song.
I was already saving for the MUM-8 but I think I'll save up a bit more and go for the MUM-10.
Also this: my Yamaha NS1000m is also recommended by Yamaha to put the tweeters and mid on the inside.
Cheers @mantaproject big love!
Love 'The Warren' intro! Lol and the new video format synced with the theme song is Flat Awesome! Love it!
These monitors look to be the ones to beat. I'd love to hear them in person. I'm thinking that if you had the 10's, maybe you wouldn't need a sub bass?
I love english humor! lol
How do you make an old English man laugh? Tell him a joke when he’s young.
"blackmail cupboard" haha
had a good laugh at the intro of this vid xD
Haha good!
4:47 Oooohhh... I want of of those Flopcat mugs
Warren, saw you and Eric at AES today. (Glad they let you out of the storeroom, again.) I hope you eventually post the whole chat you did with Jack Douglas this afternoon. Jack's got some great stories, but I didn't get to see the whole thing, unfortunately. I'd love to catch what I missed. (I saw cameras, so I'm guessing you guys shot it-assuming Eric hit the record button. 😉)
Great video guys as always thanks.....if I had the room and the budget I would definitely invest in the MUM-10s....
At first I thought the audio was being trimmed to silence to prevent Copyright issues, but then later on, I got the sense that the silences were being achieved with something like a Plugin - what was the secret sauce to such a remarkable context cleanup?
The secret sauce is a GPU-powered / AI plugin within my editing software, DaVinci Resolve Studio. It can ONLY JUST run in realtime on a top end RTX 4090 graphics card, but it’s insanely good. I’ve not found ANYTHING it can’t isolate.
Even with loud listening and us just talking over the music at moderate levels, we can get fantastic separation, as you can hear!
We used the same system during Warren’s tour of our studios in his video back in April; which I also edited.
@@PresentDayProduction Now I'm curious how it'd run on a Mac Studio with an M4 Ultra.... 🤔
@@ryanjohnson1590 probably rather well I’d imagine! It’s because we also edit 6K footage in RAW, it has to deal with that, too.
Probably isotope RX
@@PresentDayProduction James are you using RTX Voice? or do you have another plugin?
Proper drooling over that desk me
That is a cool new intro
So funny you guys ! 😂 congratulations on building what appears to be, a great f…ing killer speakers.
ALL THE LOVE TO YOU LADS! Great intro 💙
Hilarious intro 😂
I have not heard them or seen measurements but I can testify to the Purifi and Hypex technologies 👍🏻
1:55 And safer for the equipment. :O I use simple Avid Artist controllers, but NO LIQUIDS are allowed anywhere near them, haha. :P
Which version of RPO’s Nimrod do you listen too?
Well, that was a dark opening. 😄
Haha that's our sense of humour!
Emilie Nicolas - Easy, my favourite speaker torture test track right now
We love this track - it’s especially wacky in Atmos! The mix is insaaaanely good.
Is it possible listing the tracks played but muted? so I can listen to them? Thank your
Oooh, New intro
What an intro! 😆
Great intro! Well done!
Hey look, I see FlopCat everywhere!
Fabulous!
Thanks ever so much!
Please share measures by a klippel setup.
Are they aluminium woofers? I always believed aluminium sounds best. Sounds really alive
They abolutely are! We think they sound the best too - Purifi offer paper ones too but we think aluminium works great.
@@PresentDayProduction we need a cheaper 3 way option. How much would using Dayton drivers bring the price down? Just too expensive for most of us
@@chrisdover8507 Unfortunately these are expensive as they are designed as class-leading top end studio monitors and the components alone dictate that it would be impossible to make the MUMs any cheaper.
Having said that, we do have plans for 3 more studio monitor models in the works, one of which is definitely more affordable.
@@chrisdover8507 Just changing the bass drivers to Dayton wouldn't reduce it by much. Possibly more so with swapping ALL the drivers out, but then we'd be losing the point of the product - we're aiming to create top-end speakers with no compromises.
We have other cheaper speakers in the works, but nothing super-budget end because we simply don't have the manufacturing ability to compete with mass production.
Just a quick question, do you mix with your BUS compressor turned ON or you only engage the compressor after you finish your mixes?
Always almost from the start. It is better to mix into the compressor. Of course if you hear to much compression, back the threshold down.
I have thought mid and tweeter on the inside is near field. The mid and tweeter on outside is mid field placement
Any thoughts on the new Studio One 7?
That intro… 😅
Haha great times
So, after that major warning over the risk of tea near James, Warren & Mark still risk plonking their mugs on the expensive-looking mixing desk..?
The hole for the tweeter couldn't it be used to change the speaker into bass reflex ?
Nope. You need to make proper calculations to make a Bass Reflex speaker, these have been studied being Sealed Box design. And also considering the diameter of the thing, you would hear lots of port chuffing. Also, just wondering the diameter, correct me if i'm wrong guys, as I don't know exactly the inner volume, but the tube inside would be most certainly impossible to fit to be effective, as you'd mathematically/technically need a lot of lenght, to compensate the low diameter.
💕😊
Thanks ever so much!
Wish I had the money. Quite reasonable tbf though.
Am I missing something ? Why do we not have sound of the tracks played ? Really love to hear all the models, do I have to wait for them to get on TH-cam ? Doubt whether "studios" will put demos on YT, so waiting for a audiophile 2 channel listeners !!!
If we were to play audio through the video, you would be hearing audio resembling nothing like what’s coming out of the speaker!
Just consider - you’ll be hearing our microphone, then our converters, then your OWN speakers colouring the sound… it’s impossible to accurately play back speaker audio through other speakers.
Not only that, but Warren would likely get a copyright strike, which is bad news for creators.
loool this is jokes
Hilarious ;o)
Can I ask why the music has been REMOVED on a MONITOR TEST VIDEO because wasn't that the purpose of making it SO WE CAN JUDGE FOR OURSELVES???!!
TH-cam copyright strike.
You're not going to be able to accurately hear the sound coming out the MUMs, as you're also hearing the mic they would use, converters PDP use, the converters you use and then your own speakers/headphones will also colour the sound. What you're describing would be pointless basically.
@@hello-z4k9u This!
This intro is excessive 😂
🇯🇲💚💛❤️
lolololololol
First
Marvellous!
$13к.. affordable
A new car or new monitors? The choice is obvious in my opinion 🙃👌
@@SeanSecretfor sure lol, on the serious side someone who’s deciding to purchase 13000 speakers probably
Can also buy a car
It depends how you simply look at it, these monitors easily rival monitors for twice the price. They are big and sound fantastic, using top of the line components and materials. There’s much value in them, and for big studios it’s affordable. For home studios they wouldn’t even fit in there, you would want the 8s or the 6s…
@@MichalMikulskiMM i would love to know how this speakers rivals against dutch & dutch 8c which cost the same price. It won't be easy for mums to stand out.
The speakers are £7,500, which is around $9,950, where do you see $13,000?
3 blokes talking about speakers is not the same as actually hearing them...Surely you could have played something through them that we could hear...
But if we were to play audio through them, you would be hearing audio resembling nothing like what’s coming out of the speaker!
Just consider - you’ll be hearing our microphone, then our converters, then your OWN speakers colouring the sound… it’s impossible to accurately play back speaker audio through other speakers.
Reminds me of the TV advert for TVs. The tagline was that they couldn't show you how good it looked. They still put some very nicely oversaturated pictures of some tropical birds though.
