Does it stay connected for long durations or does it disconnect? 2nd, what is the quality of audio playback through these devices? Generally we see considerable drop in music quality when music is played through such wireless enabling devices like Bluetooth adapters etc. Infact in my Astor, there is a massive drop in audio quality when I play music through the car's Bluetooth system. When I connect my phone to Android Auto via cable, the music quality is perfect. Also, did you notice any heating on prolonged use? If you could touch on these points in a future video, it will, I'm sure, help a lot of people. Thank you.
Your welcome! 1) even the 4.0 stays connected wirelessly on log drives. Stability in terms of software performance. It doesn't lag. 2). This is something i was also very worried but i can tell you that the connection is thorough wifi and Bluetooth so it's very strong and music quality doesn't drops as it happens in Bluetooth! The mobile phones does get heated but only in 6-7 hours drive
Carlinkit 4 has certain issues. Not sure if those are addressed in v5. 1. At times fails to connect. Needs reconnecting. 2. For Astor, it is not compatible with it's call button on steering wheel. 3. Maps alerts and navigations voice announcement are not heard. 4. Search maps have onscreen keyboard option, but does not work, while stationary or moving. 5. Default resolution makes button and text, including on Maps, fairly small. Not too convenient to read. If you lower the resolution (through very tedious process), screen quality is very poor. 6. If the navigation is set, moving around map, zooming in and out does not function properly. It moves, but only around set route as selected by navigation. 7. From Homescreen, Android users have to select Apple Carplay (lame). ONE must cheque, if these issues are no longer in v5.
I am sending this exact text to Carlinkit for an update and solution! Since it's a software issue , the solution is possible! I will revert in 4/5 days!!

Ignore the original car's Bluetooth. 4. Set the video bitrate to 6. 5. It is not possible to zoom in and out on the map by double-tapping; you need to use the zoom in and zoom out buttons. 6. When using version 5.0, Android users will not be displayed as Carplay on the main screen. This is because version 5.0 supports dual-channel functionality, allowing wired Carplay to be converted to wireless Carplay and wired Android Auto to be converted to wireless Android Auto. On the other hand, version 4.0 has only one Carplay channel, which is used to transmit both Carplay and Android Auto signals. Therefore, when using version 4.0, Android users will be displayed as Carplay on the main screen

Not sure what do we mean by 'ignore the original car Bluetooth'. 5. My point #5 on resolution issue is not answered by Carlinkit. 6. It is not about just zoom, but to also to move around the map, while navigation route is set. It just doesn't allow to move to other areas of the map while selected route navigation is ongoing but forces me to move only on different area of identified route. However, it works fine when connected through wired android auto. 7. Shortcoming of Carlinkit4 is acceptable. Thanks.

6. When using version 5.0, Android users will not be displayed as Carplay on the main screen. This is because version 5.0 supports dual-channel functionality, allowing wired Carplay to be converted to wireless Carplay and wired Android Auto to be converted to wireless Android Auto. On the other hand, version 4.0 has only one Carplay channel, which is used to transmit both Carplay and Android Auto signals. Therefore, when using version 4.0, Android users will be displayed as Carplay on the main screen

2. Yes Astor has telephone functionality and dedicated phone button on steeling wheel. It works beautifully, if wired android auto is connected.
3. Connection to Carlinkit is through Bluetooth, so no other Bluetooth is connected at the same time. Not sure what do we mean by 'ignore the original car Bluetooth'.
5. My point #5 on resolution issue is not answered by Carlinkit.
6. It is not about just zoom, but to also to move around the map, while navigation route is set. It just doesn't allow to move to other areas of the map while selected route navigation is ongoing but forces me to move only on different area of identified route. However, it works fine when connected through wired android auto.
7. Shortcoming of Carlinkit4 is acceptable.

@@prakashparadisee Even the android box / Dashcam from Carlinkit don't have 5G support .Other android boxes in the market have already started rolling out 5G support.
Awaiting Carlinkit to update the range to support 5G as 4G data services will becone obsolete soon.

@@prakashparadisee the device is disconnecting every 15 minutes. There support team says its a software issue, tried every possible thing to update the software, its not updating, not even with the offline method.
