But if you do it at the broker level , you lose the speed of transmission of compressed data , whereas if you do it using the Python script, it's already delivered to destination, and then conversion happens...
If you do conversion at broker level for a few topics, what happens to those topics data which may be used you another sparkplug B consumer?
