@@squirtXreynoldsnah big disagree, it was cool getting a different perspective, and watching this man ruin everything because he couldn’t stay away from the life, all the while Phil gains more power and calls for Vito’s head, eventually leading to Tony’s guys killing a made man from Ny and refueling the fire that was doused at the end of season 5? My favorite episode from this season. The framing device of it being set around Johnny Sack's daughter's wedding was perfect. The ultimate Godfather reference in the show's final season.
The whole dementia with Uncle Jr. part hit hard when I rewatched the show after dealing with my grandmother and mom both going through dementia. You can tell the writer must have dealt with the same situation before because the whole progression just rings too true to life.
When you guys finish Sopranos I couldn’t recommend ‘Boardwalk Empire’ more. One of Steve Buscemi’s all time greatest performances, and another look at the New Jersey/East Coast mob scene(This time during prohibition in the late 1910s-20s). Vito still got more story to go. Formal is 100% correct on why Tony beat up ol boy. Tony sees how everyone reacted to Johnny’s moment of “weakness”. He already fell down, he’s had the panic attacks, plus they know he sees a psychologist. So he letting them know the champ still here and if anyone wants a title shot you can get this smoke.
I love how In depth you go into each episode. The sopranos really needs the viewer to pay attention to every detail and you guys ace that. Much love from New Zealand
Interesting that in the same episode Vito is outed there's this running theme of Tony sizing the guys. It's almost like the other side of the coin, one looking at the bodies sexually, the other for their potential for aggression and power dynamics lol
The beating of the muscle guy by Tony always baffled me. Sure, he was marking his dominance, showing that he is still strong despite his injuries, but for me it was always more pathetic, than impressive. Come on, you are beating a guy that can not hit back, because you are a boss (even if they are a gloryfied crew :P). What's the point? Sure it worked, but IRL?
The characters are real like that, people are petty and insecure in real life. Tony's not a hero, there's no good guys and bad guys, just shades of grey
@@tomdemay6147 yeah, he eventually took a swing, but to be honest I always though that he chosed him because he was the most "muscular" of them. You see in the scene how he was weighting the guys in his eyes, look for the biggest mofo to beat (just like Feech LaMana :D)

Vito ran because being gay means automatic death sentence. I believe the bar was in Brooklyn & those were Brooklyn guys doing the collection that saw Vito. Phil & Vito’s wife are cousins. Vito knows if Phil finds out then everyone finds out & he’s a dead man. And Vito can’t silence 2 Brooklyn guys. Vito has to hang low & hope word doesn’t spread & be ready to bolt if it does get out that Vito plays in the Village People band.
Another prime example of being guilty until proven innocent in this country. Even if you are found not guilty you don't get your money back. I had an uncle who just recently died of cancer. He was cooking ribs on the grill and the fire accidentally melted some material that was on the back porch and caught the porch on fire. The damage wasn't that bad but the fire department was called. My uncle actually got burned putting the fire out. It was obvious to everyone it was an accident but a week later the cops came to his work and arrested him for arson. The fire martial saw he had a prior from 30 years ago so figured it would be easy to frame him up dispite no evidence. While he was in jail he lost his job and home. My mother had to take 10 grand out of her retirement to bail him out. The prosecutors kept trying to get him to plead guilty even lowering it down to a misdemeanor but he said no it was accident. My uncle would never burn ribs intentionally lol. We actually found a expert witness (someone who taught fire martials how to do their job) and he made the fire martial look like an idiot but the prosecutor held out because they wanted another conviction on their resume and they figured he would plead out. Anyways the last court date before it went to trial they dropped charges. My uncle tried to sue the fire marshal for lying so he could get back everything he lost but no lawyer wanted to go against the state so he was shit out of luck. Like I said guilty till proven innocent
Sorry to hear, but if you ever get into one of these situations where the locals dont want to challenge the case due to career and everyone knowing each other, you have to go out of state and find the kind of lawyer that lives to sue people. Those lawyers are out here and only refuse bad cases
@maniac50ae14 Yeah, he was flat broke by the time we bailed him out, and he wanted to get another job and start working to get his life back on track. He went to some locals and then went to the closest big city (Tampa) and talked to some. We never thought about him going out of state for one. He had no money to travel, and I don't think he can just talk to em over a phone to hire em. He finally just gave up, but I wish he would have kept looking (even if it was out of state) because that would have solved all the financial difficulties this caused him. He was diagnosed with cancer and died a few years later. It really pisses me off even more to think he could have died in prison for a grill fire because of a corrupt fire martial and prosecutor who didn't want to lose a case. That prosecutor tried so hard to get him to take a plea deal because they had no case against him, and they finally dropped charges at the last minute because they couldn't scare him into it. To think this type of corruption happens all the time
@@kylethompson3008 You can get consultations and talk the case over the phone, send paperwork via fax and photos by mail and if its worth it, if they think they have good chance of winning, they just take their cut from the winnings.
