Since season one with Billy Bob Thornton, "Fargo" has been the best televsion on television. Huge thanks to Noah Hawley and producer Warren Littlefield.
@@theascendunt9960 As an outisider, still loyal to the British Crown. Series 5 hit the spot as a metaphor or warped reality to the trained eye of a greater imagery of the MAGA/Right Wing Libertarian Conservatism & its opposing force "the deep state." It showed, the sheer brutality of banking & the financial system on normal people & how the rich elites exploit loopholes to destroy those crippled by student/medical/mortgage debt if they are simply not earning enough to make ends meet. A beautiful side plot was revolving around the female police officer. She has a "manchild" husband who has a childhood dream to become a golfer because he does not work he rakes up enormous credit card debt through purchasing expensive golf clubs & other 'manchild' hobbies. He blames his lack of talent on the golf clubs. His wife has to work overtime to fund his "Peter Pan Syndrome" just to keep the vultures from attaching their assets. Then concerning the policer officer, she requests credit records/bank statements of the police officer's debts who then has her car repo'ed. The part I found interesting was that only Lorraine on the show saw the true accent? Even when she was back with the people from her old life, she only spoke with the Minnesota accent.
@@theascendunt9960By ratings alone, this season is stronger than s3 & 4. Also overall. This season is jam-packed with great characters & plot. obviously not even close to the excellence of season 1 & 2. But that's a very high bar.
Should have looked for this comment before I posted. The "transatlantic" accent is also called a "Mid-Atlantic" accent. Maude Lebowski had the same accent.
Loved the movie!! I enjoyed all the Fargo movies! Being a retired Deputy, they & the cast did a super, super great job making it so realistic!!! I’ve worked with both sides of other law enforcement officers and they hit the nail so far on the head!! 0:15
For Fargo, the accent is said to be 'Fargo Minnesota nice'. It's very appealing and idiosyncratic of the movie and TV series; can be unfriendly but unerringly polite! Apparently, Fargo residents don't talk like that, unless anyone from Fargo can say different?
Fargo resident here-Yeah no one here actually talks like that. We sound pretty much the same as any other midwestern region. For people who aren’t from here, the Fargo series accents might be cool to hear, but for us residents of the Red River Valley, it rubs us the wrong way because it’s not an accurate representation of how people here actually talk. Still love the series though!
@@Donniedarko458season one and 2 are amazing seasons of television. You can go without seeing season 3 and 4 for this new installment. They all do seem to connect in a minor way but so far not at all.

@@loveforeignaccentsYou absolute ingrate. You've obviously not even watched any of the previous seasons. The best written, directed and acted of any series in the last 10 yrs. Actors are lining up to be in this.
Start from season 2, based on 1979. Then the movie based on 1996. Then season 1, 3 then 5 all of these 3 are in order of the timeline. Then you can try with season 4. It's based on 1940-50s but it's the weakest installment overall & adds nothing to the Fargo universe.
Agree. Season 4 had a lot of potential but it was definitely the worst season. Unfortunately casting Chris Rock and Jason Schwartzman was a bad choice. They weren’t at all believable.
Juno Temple I thought was great in Ted Lasso. But her performance in Fargo was flat out every award possible worthy 🥇. As good as all the Fargo seasons and actors have been. Her performance was flat out brilliant and amazing.
Season 5 turned out to be pretty good. I thought it started out good, slowed down quite a bit in the middle, but then picked up well in the last 3 episodes.
I’m a born and raised ND / Fargo native, and I can tell you, NOBODY here talks like this. It’s the one thing that I hate about the series as a whole… otherwise it’s an incredible series.
Jon Hamm finally does a role that saves his career. He can't do light situational comedy or even a victim of circumstance characters. It's the heavy antagonist. Could swear I seen him do James Arnes of Gunsmoke in a fleeting moment of a Roy Tillman lecture.
I am from Australia, and in 2022, my wife and I had a road trip across the US from LA to NY via Canada. Heading east through South Dakota, we stopped at a roadhouse in Sioux Falls. I was checking out some of the snacks on the shelf in the shop. I heard a fellow from behind the counter talking to another fellow there. My immediate thought was that this poor guy is in some way mentally challenged. He was chewing every word that was coming out of his mouth. The other guy was talking ok, well, like most other Americans. I listened a bit more and could tune in to what he was actually saying. No, he was not mentally challenged. He was talking normal, but with this thick accent. Travelling across from one coast to the other and of course Canada, we heard all sorts of accents. But this guy was unique. I know we were close to Minnesota. After watching Fargo. I am wondering if he had the Minnesota accent?? Aftet Sioux Falls, we headed south. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit in Minnesota. We loved all the previous Fargo series and would have loved to travel in that state. Maybe next time..........
They might as well gave him 2 horns and a tail. They didn't make a complex character. They just put all the evil tropes in one guy and pretty much beat you with it. I was so hyped to see Jon Hamm to play a cool character but ended up in the worst season of Fargo. Sad.
The Minnesotan accent is pretty thick throughout the entire Fargo franchise, which is no doubt deliberate. In reality, the further you travel away from Minneapolis, the thicker the accent gets (i.e., rural = thicker accent).
