Except instead of writing i want to be an artist (painting.) I'm currently a daycare teacher full time. Though for the most part i enjoy it, my true calling is creativity. Ive always known i want to do art full time, amd just be creative in all aspects of my life. I've been trying to push myself with everything I do to achieve my goals. All while struggling with a chronic illness. I love that you've been finding your true happiness, and are able to do that to the fullest. I'm trying to get there myself. I've spent the last few years not letting myself be the best version of me... if that makes sense. Your makeup and skincare videos played a role in giving me a way to begin to break that cycle that I got myself in. But now I'm seeing the difference between that version of you and this version. I loved that version of Maria Gloria, she was a huge help to me. But this version of Maria Gloria is TRULY inspiring. In every sense of the word! I can see how much happier you are now that you're living as your most authentic self. I've been on a similar journey and throughout this video I've repeatedly found myself being so incredibly inspired by you and your ambition. I'm so very, very happy for you. Keep living your best life and never stop working towards making it your dream! And I would let yourself go down the self-publish route. I think the dream of it becoming a show or movie won't be lost in that route, and in the long run it will save the authenticity of your work so that it remains the work of Maria Gloria, if that makes sense. Girl, when I tell you I've MISSED you. I follow you everywhere, but there's something just so (chef's kiss) about going through these longer vlogs with you. I love the idea that you might come back from time to time when you're feeling it; it'll feel like a surprise visit from an old friend. Also, I'm a writer, too, and I completely get that traditional/self-pub debate. I grew up thinking the dream was to be a traditionally published author, but now, my real dream is being published. I decided I wanted to self-publish 1.) because I want full control of my book and where it goes, and 2.) I write way too much and have way too many things I want to publish to go through the lengthy process of querying/agenting/pitching for every single book. I'd rather spend that time writing and creating my books. (If you ever want another writing friend with kids the same ages as yours, I am DOWN.) Also, in case you're ever interested in being part of a small literary press, I have a literary magazine (Lit Shark Magazine) that is going to open its doors to submissions for BOOKS starting this September. In the beginning, I'll open the doors for one month, twice a year, to read submissions, and 1-2 books will be chosen. All the costs of putting the book together and publishing it will be covered by Lit Shark, and the writers we select will be fully involved in the process. We won't change the story (because why did we choose it if we wanted to change it?), the author can help us decide on the cover, etc. We're not one of the Big Five, but if the issues of Lit Shark Magazine are any indication of the quality of the books I'm hoping we'll publish... it's going to be good. And I'd be open from time to time to looking at a book outside of the submission window; they wouldn't be the winner of the biannual contest, but all of their expenses would still be covered. I'm sure once your first draft is complete, you're going to have COUNTLESS opportunities at your feet, but just know Lit Shark and I are here for you if you ever want to check us out---and again, I really want to be friends. Keep doing what fills your cup, girl. I'll keep following wherever that leads you. 🥰
Girl I think we can all agree that, not to throw any dirt your way, but you seem to have had interpreted a lot of your followers' hopes for you and the variety of peoples' suggestions etc as more pressure when all we ever wanted for you to do is prosper and OF COURSE you're a mom and now wife... We're gonna come for the family AND you're the family, and your hobbies etc. you did have to journey for a while obviously, that's part of the human experience but judging from the collective comments of support and such... And I would let yourself go down the self-publish route. I think the dream of it becoming a show or movie won't be lost in that route, and in the long run it will save the authenticity of your work so that it remains the work of Maria Gloria, if that makes sense. Also would just like to say that going the self publishing route seems like a better option, I don’t know what I would do if someone just came in and changed a character or the title of my book and not possibly having the option to pick the cover just seems awful in my opinion

Girl, when I tell you I've MISSED you. I follow you everywhere, but there's something just so (chef's kiss) about going through these longer vlogs with you. I love the idea that you might come back from time to time when you're feeling it; it'll feel like a surprise visit from an old friend.
Also, I'm a writer, too, and I completely get that traditional/self-pub debate. I grew up thinking the dream was to be a traditionally published author, but now, my real dream is being published. I decided I wanted to self-publish 1.) because I want full control of my book and where it goes, and 2.) I write way too much and have way too many things I want to publish to go through the lengthy process of querying/agenting/pitching for every single book. I'd rather spend that time writing and creating my books. (If you ever want another writing friend with kids the same ages as yours, I am DOWN.)
Also, in case you're ever interested in being part of a small literary press, I have a literary magazine (Lit Shark Magazine) that is going to open its doors to submissions for BOOKS starting this September. In the beginning, I'll open the doors for one month, twice a year, to read submissions, and 1-2 books will be chosen. All the costs of putting the book together and publishing it will be covered by Lit Shark, and the writers we select will be fully involved in the process. We won't change the story (because why did we choose it if we wanted to change it?), the author can help us decide on the cover, etc. We're not one of the Big Five, but if the issues of Lit Shark Magazine are any indication of the quality of the books I'm hoping we'll publish... it's going to be good. And I'd be open from time to time to looking at a book outside of the submission window; they wouldn't be the winner of the biannual contest, but all of their expenses would still be covered. I'm sure once your first draft is complete, you're going to have COUNTLESS opportunities at your feet, but just know Lit Shark and I are here for you if you ever want to check us out---and again, I really want to be friends.
Keep doing what fills your cup, girl. I'll keep following wherever that leads you. 🥰

Girl I think we can all agree that, not to throw any dirt your way, but you seem to have had interpreted a lot of your followers' hopes for you and the variety of peoples' suggestions etc as more pressure when all we ever wanted for you to do is prosper and OF COURSE you're a mom and now wife... We're gonna come for the family AND you're the family, and your hobbies etc. you did have to journey for a while obviously, that's part of the human experience but judging from the collective comments of support and such... You had us all along and must've just needed to confirm for yourself what YOU have to look forward to that you understandably prob needed to cut back content for to focus on where you chose to bring off of here. ❤
