My tactical glass breaker even has a glass breaker.
Wow, I had no idea I could get the live wire in magnacut and DLC!!! For less than $220 delivered.
I find this to be an improvement over the Medusa 2.0 in almost every aspect. Aesthetically I appreciate the black aluminum plus carbon fiber look, and whatever coating they put on the handles gives the knife a lot more grip. The aluminum on the previous version was quite slippery, and combined with the tight button made the knife really hard to deploy when my hands are wet, a problem that the new version fixed. The button itself is also redesigned to have curved sides, which also reduces the chance of the thumb slipping over the button. The tip is also very sharp so I love cutting tape on packages with it.
The Neptune came in a flavor listed as "drop blade" which is actually kind of a tanto. I got a silver body one in the second drop to go with my black body double edge from the first drop.
tanto + serrated is my favorite out the front combo
Nice looking blade
Your absolute HATE for the Benchmade Infidel will never not be funny to me.
The problem with you & your channel is now I'm addicted to knives! 🙄😂
Got my Neptune today and just blown away!! Got a gravity knife on the way...
Off to the gym now to exercise my thumbs... 👍
I've had 1 for a bit now. Much better than the "no limit" ver1.
I own probably 20 OTFs now, they're so easy to take apart. I've had more issues with folders than OTFs. Keep an eye on the tiny lock springs.
I got 2 Kershaw Livewires from BladeHQ on sale last week for $185 each. The switch is incredible. Blade is a little small, but overall I love it.
Great value. Neptune really has a tight switch
I really enjoy this one. It’s a nice otf and doesn’t break the bank. Plus Magnacut with a good heat treat. It’s a win for me. I put purple tritium in mine. Looks sick.
@@tonyb8434 it’s pretty decent. It’s not near as bright as green but it looks good on this knife. It would probably be better if they were bigger slots and you could use bigger vials.
@@original696sin awesome man, thanks. I will probably get the same. Sounds like a good color combo.👍🏼
Not really a hydraulic action. Does it use phosphorus bronze washers?
Yeah. They really need to price this in consideration of the fact that Livewire exists. I'm not crazy about the blade designs on these either. I like the Neptune way better. I own three of them now (one in each blade type). Silver with drop/tanto is my favorite - such a beast of a blade!
How would this knife hold up against cutting thru alot of cardboard? Like watermelon bins from walmart and similar cardboard??
Well that didn't take long. After praising my Neptune yesterday it's now failed. I cannot deploy the blade nor retract it. It just slides in and out on its own. Any idea how to fix this or should I just return it?
I kind of felt like heretic had a monopoly on the ancient Greek/mythological knife names. Nonetheless, super neat I’ll have to check one of those soon.
The most intimidating knife to take apart and put back together is the damn factor.
May I get an opinion. Medusa or Live wire?
The ONLY thing I like about that more than my Neptune is the blade steel. Honestly value to price I like the Neptune over any you just showed. I need to start using mine to bushcraft. lol
My favorite place to have any “billboarding” is just on the edge of the flipper on the Mamba and it’s only the blade steel. I think that looks cool and classy.
I found this after scrolling through your vids lmao,
I think I would want the X06C? One it has one smooth side and the other completely serrated. I just wish the clip didn't have that stupid ass glass breaker!!! I still need to go try to find a replacement screw for my Neptune to make it smooth
How does the size comparison to the Maxace Neptune
Neptune is a lot closer to the Combat Troodon and the blade is extra thick and wide. This is closer to an Ultratech and I don''t find the blade design very appealing. Personally, I like Neptune more, other than the blade steel, which is still fine on the Neptune... Magnacut is just better.
@@Prizrak-hv6qk did your Neptune come with a good sharpened edge, because mine did not. It needs a sharpening for sure.
@@delaney3722 That sucks to hear. My dagger and drop/tanto blade versions both came with very nice edges - sharper than my Ultratech and two Heretics. The blade geometry is not great for cutting and slicing though, especially on the dagger, but that's to be expected with such blade types. They both still slice paper pretty well considering. You just have to go from the right angle.
@@Prizrak-hv6qk yea, mine won’t cut paper. It’s ok. I’ll put a sharpener to it and fix er up. Just wondered if anyone else experienced the same.
do you know what the cladding on the neptune is?? just got one and im curious
@@metal_complex I would like to know what the button and pocket clip on the neptune are made of because neither one are magnetic?
The button could be aluminum. The pocket clip is almost certainly titanium.
It’s funny you should mention that weird legal combination of OTFs being legal, but not double-edged. That’s the exact situation in Michigan where I live. It makes absolutely zero sense, but thats where we are. 🙄
@@hificat101 Yes, it does. Michigan has a couple stupid knife laws. Another one is that it’s illegal to carry a fixed blade knife outside of the act of hunting too. Would an officer actually enforce that law? I don’t know, but it’s on the books. So stupid. I’ve written my lawmakers multiple times over the years, but no luck in changing these laws so far.
nice price! only a little bit higher than the price in China
Who needs a glass breaker (proceeds to do a JCVD jumping spinning back kick then falls into the splits for absolutely no reason 😋)
In the event of an emergency tactical, please break glass. 😆
60HRC Magnacut is poopoo town when it comes to small blades. Even on larger fixed blades most at least go 61-62HRC. I can't get smart on why these Chinese OEMs, and why they decide to run EVERY steel at the same hardness at 58-61 (with a FEW exceptions). They have super advanced heat treating and tempering ovens, and I'm sure both the community and Steel manufacturers/distributors will help develop a protocol that achieves the desired hardness AND it's in the datasheet.
Michigan allows single edged switchblades only.
@@metal_complex I agree, but at least they removed the prohibition on switchblades, balisongs, and gravity knives. They don't even allow double edged fixed blade knives. Unfortunately laws are created by people who have no idea about the subject they are writing laws for.
What, no slamming of the Instagram leather patch?!?!? I don’t like change MC!! 😂
I have never once slapped the leather card on a full review. That's exclusive to unboxing content. Always has been 😉
@@metal_complex ahh….so I totally missed that structure….I guess there is a method to your madness….😎 Carry on good sir….and congrats on the new addition to your family!
That's a tactical clip... for when you go tacticalling.
The only Chinese knives I purchase are the sub $50 range variety.
Curious as to the reasoning? USA and Chinese knife OEM manufacturing is basically 1:1 ratio as far as quality/fit and finish and execution; most may even argue China is slightly superior in that area. If it came down to being against purchasing Chinese products in general then you probably wouldn't even be willing to make the $50 purchases either so it doesn't appear that country of origin is where you are drawing the line. Just seems peculiar to cut off your purchases at the $50 area when there are certainly high quality items in the $100-$250 range and even vastly higher than that as well. But anyways, just generally curious on the take, thanks.
@@wes.killed.it.5511Because I prefer to support American businesses but China makes all the cheap beater knives

Subway knife looked okay and the last one I think is done by a legit company but idk if that's the one
