Question, or point of information, I noticed you said her left flank is distended which is where the calf lies. Isn't that where the rumen/digestive tract is, and the calf/repro tract lies in the right flank? I hope you can clarify not just for me but for others watching.

We and our vet always bumped calves on the right. We checked rumen fill on the left.
Our Holstein herd usually calved between 268 and 280 days post insemination. Twins usually arrived earlier.
Iodine dip saturates better than spray and less likely to be inhaled.
