FINALLY a channel that tests devices with 100% battery health. So many channels test the battery on the older phones with a lot lower battery health. Of course their battery life is gonna suck!!!!
Thanks for the video! One thing I've noticed with pretty much all battery test videos out there is that nobody's really taking calls into consideration when testing out battery life. I think phone calls/ FaceTime/ Messenger/ WhatsApp calls would be a nice addition when doing these tests since we are talking about a phone after all, and from my personal experience using iPhones, I feel like calls usually blast through the battery more than most other activities. I feel like including anything from 15 minutes to perhaps an hour of calls (I feel this is a somewhat fair estimate of a user's average daily call timings) would be a great addition and it would be interesting to see the comparison between generations. Thank you :)
This is a great idea in principle but I fear that adding a call test (or FaceTime etc) would be really difficult to pull off in terms of the parameters already set for these battery tests that Ultimate device Vids has long- established over years of doing them. Calls( more so than any of these tests) really depend on cellular connection in terms of their effect on battery usage. I mean, you can’t make a call on WiFi (at least in a way that would be relevant in such a comparison) and as such, the results wouldn’t really be all that useful to add to the testing suite. I’d imagine simply making calls while remaining in the same location would yield very similar results as the biggest reason calls tend to use a lot of battery in real life scenarios is because in real life you are constantly switching cell towers as you move about. Sometimes the tower you are using is close by but often your phone is forced to use a tower many miles further away depending on where you happen to be and how many towers are available in that particular area. Distance dramatically affects power usage so getting a properly relevant comparison would be a logistical nightmare, if it’s even possible. I suspect this is the reason most battery comparisons do not include calls. Keep in mind that I’m no expert in this area and I could be totally wrong about all of this but it at least makes sense to me. Please correct me if I’m in error in my thinking here. As I said, if a fair and relevant way to perform call testing is possible I agree that that data would be very interesting. Maybe adding calls to the test suite while staying in one location with the caveat being that the results are not indicative of real-world calling would be interesting as another data point, but I just suspect that taking tower-switching out of the picture would yield very similar results, thus making their inclusion rather unnecessary.
My 14 Pro Max lasted noticeably less than my 13 Pro Max. When I upgraded to the 15 Pro Max I was worried it would have the same battery issues as the 14 Pro Max since Apple didn't mention any battery improvements in their keynote. But thankfully the battery life has been better and tests like yours reflect that too. I know it would probably be insanely time consuming, but would you ever consider adding a standby section in future tests? For example, using the phone for 5-6 hours straight, letting it go on standby overnight, and then continuing the battery test the next day. This would also give you a nice break too. And in a test with standby, it's possible the 13 Pro Max could close the gap with the 15 Pro Max, potentially giving even more accurate results.
My 14 plus would outlast the 14 pro max that I traded it for. I trade every year not that I need to but want to have the latest and greatest iPhone. With that being said, my 15 pro max has really impressed me with its battery life.
Dropped my 13 pro max and was forced to upgrade at the worst time to 14 pro max right before 15 came out. Idk I LOVED my 13 pro max but maybe that’s because I was coming from an old busted 8 plus. Don’t feel the emotional connection to the 14 pro max. Not sure if it’s my imagination but selfies felt more flattering on 13 pro max and battery felt longer but that could be because i was so happy and that was such a significant upgrade from what I had been using prior. Also, Dynamic Island is dumb I have no particular love of it. It’s whatever and I actually was really happy I got 13 pro max when they finally made the notch smaller. Maybe it’s just like placebo effect
i have my 13 pro max stolen right two weeks before 16 series came out，so now i have the 15 pro max but i really miss the 13 pri max，after 13 apple has got nearly no important upgrades and the post ios 15 software is awful with the new lockscreen
My mom's 13 PM is at 89% battery health too, she got the phone last december, when it was at 100% battery health. It still lasts 2/3 days. Not bad tbh. :)
much respect for buying brand new devices in order to get high accuracy but i think you should include more apps in your test such as camera and phone because it's what most people use their phones for as well
I charge my 15 pro max from 12 am to 6am. Take it off the charger. With light social media use, with playing youtube videos and songs at the gym for two hours. Still have 40-60% battery life left at 1-2am
14 is a bit of a dud in this respect. Coming from. 12 Pro Max I was gutted when I saw how much better the 13 PM was when it came out. Finally upgraded to a 15PM and its been great so far
My 15 pro max died in 9 hrs. Im actually flabbergasted. Ever since I had the 13 I never had no issues with battery, 14 it was definitely less, but 15 first time in ages my phone actually died without me knowing. Insane, I highly recommend the 13, everything else seems poorly made. And yes! The 15 does over heat… a lot…

Apple made iphone 14 pro series to loose more battery with ios 17.0.3 to show 15 pro is better... you should have tested with the out of the box versions...
mine too ..."upgraded" from 13pm it to 15pm, kinda liked that 13-series pro steel design more than this "soft-ass" titanium. 13pm = pinnacle of iphone design still at 2023
Given the iPhone 13 Pro Max is 2 years old at this point the battery is holding up great. Although the next 14 and 15 do have double the number of charge cycles.

I just checked my 13 pro max recently and the battery was at 85% and I’ve had it for 2 years, I gave it to my daughter and financed the 15 cause I always hand my phones down to her after a couple years and she’s already complaining about the battery, but for me I didn’t feel like it was ever draining too fast.

Anytime that was the case they literally never even attempt to do anything. Like I am wanting to give you guys money. Why are they denying it. I think the reason it decreased is because apple wanted to add a bigger battery life to the iPhone fifteen after they added the Dynamic Island to the iPhone 14 so that they could say it has a bigger battery life
I've had the 15 pro Max for less than a week and the battery actually drains faster than I thought, there were times when I restarted the cell phone, and when it turned on again the battery had lost 5% of the capacity at which it was restarted. I've already spoken to support and done all the performance tests and they tell me it's normal. Has anyone else gone through this?
actually got no clue how my iphone's never last nearly as long as tested. got a 13pm with 100% battery health, it drops roughly 10% in 30 minutes and i get 5-6 hours of light-moderate usage.
Around the 5th minute of the video i noticed that the iphone 15pro max wifi signal was constantly changing between 2 and 3 bars on the top right, while the other 2 phones were constantly at full signal all the time

You made one mistake and that's updating all phones to the current software. You do know iOS 16 on iPhone 14 promax what's the best battery life on any smartphone. I know it's difficult to see the original OS on a brand new phone so I guess you take what it gives you and run the tests on that. The 14 plus on iOS 16 was the best battery life ever
True battery life has gone up significantly, however soon as u put a simcard and use it for daily usage, it never matches anywhere close. My samsung s23ultra gives 8 to 10min off screen time without sim, but when i use it for daily, the battery is only 60% of what was before. Same result with my iphone to, just a little better though

Why are you upgrading every year? There’s barely any difference from the 13 to the 15. And the 13 is better than the 14, battery wise

The battery on my 14 PM had lost 2% of its battery capacity from June to October. Never had that happen before.

actually got no clue how my iphone's never last nearly as long as tested. got a 13pm with 100% battery health, it drops roughly 10% in 30 minutes and i get 5-6 hours of light-moderate usage.

Around the 5th minute of the video i noticed that the iphone 15pro max wifi signal was constantly changing between 2 and 3 bars on the top right, while the other 2 phones were constantly at full signal all the time

The 15 pro max is very similar to the 13 pro max in battery life, which is a good thing..
No improvement kinda sucks, phone still can't last me a day

You made one mistake and that's updating all phones to the current software. You do know iOS 16 on iPhone 14 promax what's the best battery life on any smartphone. I know it's difficult to see the original OS on a brand new phone so I guess you take what it gives you and run the tests on that. The 14 plus on iOS 16 was the best battery life ever

Iphone 15 pro max 120Hz vs 60HZ previous Pro max
True battery life has gone up significantly, however soon as u put a simcard and use it for daily usage, it never matches anywhere close. My samsung s23ultra gives 8 to 10min off screen time without sim, but when i use it for daily, the battery is only 60% of what was before. Same result with my iphone to, just a little better though

So if we acount for that buffering that affected the 15 promax in the beginning, it would probably got maybe an extra 10 minutes or more
