5:09 Hard as it is to believe, in the 1984 election, the Tories did indeed attain a majority *BEFORE* the Ontario seats were factored in. They had 144 seats minus Ontario (282 made up the whole HoC back then).

22:30 We did get staggered voting hours in 1997. They don’t all close at the exact same time, but with BC closing only a half hour after Alberta through Quebec it is a lot better than it used to be.
