These are the types of wrestling conversations I love hearing from Jim and Brian. The technicalities of professional wrestling in the ring and in the office. Much love for the knowledge.
I have promoted many different kinds of shows in my life. From spoken word poetry shows to art shows to music. What Jim is saying is 100% on the money. Not only that, but when you talk to local sponsors and bring them in they connect you to more potential sponsors for next show that you throw. Listen to what he is saying. He definitely knows his shit
Booker T agreed with AEW firing CM Punk. He's a joke just like Kahn and has no respect for wrestling. He's not suited to run or have a big position in a wrestling promotion
@@Heiswhoislifee no it wasn't. Mark moments have to do with inside knowledge. The Booker T-CM Punk stuff wasn't that, and it was very public. And you're a joke for calling me out but not Booker T. Booker T exposed himself, and now he has no place as a promoter or anything like that. And i think that you all should acknowledge that too and call out people who deserve to be called out. When enough people don't do that, then you get situations like AEW, which hurt the business. Booker T, too, who's fake, disrespectful, soft, and a snake, would hurt the business
This reminds me of when Krusty the clown was bad mouthing Percocet and then he said "and now a word from our sponsor... Percocet aww crap!" That was a missed opportunity on aew's part. "And our next segment is sponsored by Domino's Pizza" 🤣
I think they're more interested in doing subscription services since they're doing this whole moving away from cable thing. Ever since subscription services started getting popular ratings went down. That's why RAW went from 4 to 1 within 10 years.
hi television producer here for WJIZZ we always buy wrestling from indie promotions in return they send some of the girls to my office for some extra exposure
@@alternative7586no Raw went down because CM Punk left. And now it's going back up because CM Punk is back. CM Punk was bigger than Steve Austin. CM Punk is the modern day Beatles
I remember when ROH used to air Health Alert Hotline commercials before every TV episode. Jay Lethal cutting an angry promo about knee braces will forever be burned in my mind 🤣🤣🤣
@alternative7586 I wanna say somewhere between 2014 - 2016. It was during that time when Lethal was at his peak, holding both the ROH World and TV titles for a year and some change
I think if promotions went and actually broadcasted on local TV, it would bring more attention and could possibly bring back the territories better than NWA is trying to do.
@@alternative7586 Even 2000's indies were unprofessional compared to the territories, the indie would need that kind of professionalism and production the territories had to even hope to get on local stations.
I can't help but feel that for the territories to come back, you need to go back to some kind of kayfabe of sorts, or a modern equivalent of it. It demands a reset of sorts, and the realisation that you won't generate the sort of profits WWE is pulling in. The territories made people a lot of money but they rely on drawing the same people week in, week out, to the same venues. To do that, you need to get them invested emotionally beyond the dronelike "cheer on cue" crowd reactions of WWE and AEW.
This is what AEW meeds to do. More grassroots promotion , use the internet to promote as mseel . More promotion is better. Please take some notes tony kahn
So funny, listening to the people complaining about certain politicians being unprofessional debating the value of having dog fucking on television hilarious
It's because WBD continually makes bad decisions. Also, a lot of money got freed up when inside the nba left. WBD is run as well as AEW, and any ratings are good for them. Like, really think about what they would replace AEW with. My feeling is that the TV deal was a minor bump up from what they originally had by moving pieces around. Usually, over complex deals are like that because one party is looking for as much as an increase as they can get. Compare to WWE deal with Netflix, which was much simpler
The details are private. However, it has been confirmed that WBD does own, at most, a 10% stake of AEW. Others are saying that AEW is a bargain compared to other TV programs. Both parties agreed to a deal so good for them.

Step 1 in selling wrestling to local tv stations is to not secretly hire Vince Russo to do your booking. Or so I’ve heard.
Nah, that's only national TV networks
It’s crash TV BRO

Good luck, there's not likely many if any stations looking for indies, and the indies that do exist are almost no where near professional.
@@maxxdahl6062 I suppose that is a problem with almost every indie nowadays. Indies used to be so good during the 2000's.

Jim is rarely wrong here, because Seinfeld WOULD go to Akron, if that's where his GFs HS was.
There isn’t much local programming besides news at least here in Detroit. Maybe it might work in a smaller market?
I always went to ROH wrestling in the Du Berns area in Baltimore.
