    Question here: Why are we breathing only out of the right nostril for so long but not the left nostril, but not doing the same with the left nostril only for an equal amount of time? Thank you for entertaining my question and thank you for making it so easy for me to cultivate a home yin yoga practice. I discovered you during our pandemic lockdown period. You kept me on the mat. I will be forever grateful.

      That version of alt nostril breath is specific to being optimal for morning time to awaken and energize.

    Thank you for this practice. I do have a question though, Travis, if a bit can be explained, i would greatly appreciate it.
    I did practice several pranayama breathing technics, but yours was focused more on the right nostril breathing. Usually it alternates as far as what I have tried. Is this on purpose? Or is it just a different technic? I feel now a bit unbalanced on my left nostril 😅

    • @traviseliotyoga
      @traviseliotyoga  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes, the right nostril breathing is intentional. It’s Solar breathing which is great for the morning time to help increase energy and stimulation. If it was evening you could do lunar breathing as way to activate a more calming energy.

    Why breath in and out of the right nostril only and not the left?

    • @apekshapatel5067
      @apekshapatel5067 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The right nostril is associated with the sun/solar therefore an energising breath - great for first thing in the morning..the left nostril is associated with the moon/lunar encouraging a calming/cooling state.......please anyone correct me if I have this incorrect 🙏🏽🙏🏽💛

    • @traviseliotyoga
      @traviseliotyoga  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, exactly. Breathing in and out right nostril stimulates surya nadi increasing alertness and perfect for the morning.

  • @marsha1963
    @marsha1963 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was waiting for the left nostril inhalation. Why didn’t we do that?

    • @traviseliotyoga
      @traviseliotyoga  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because it’s a morning specific routine. At this time of day it’s often best to focus on activation of the surya nadi of the right nostril. This helps us to become more awake and alert.

    Breathing pattern is wrong .
    You do first pranayam Bhastrika not Kapalbhati but you say Kapalbhati.
    When breath through in Bhastrika our elbow touch chest
