We finally went flying again, Canberra to Brisbane on the 5th, was very excited only to catch Covid for the very first time.
I’m reluctant to go again. I wish we could go back to pre Covid when we could go anywhere without worrying about that.
Of course we will go again it’s just the risk you take these days, we love flying too much not to!
Keep up the good work mate, we love your videos.
I am surprised a heavy tech using person wouldn't use the QF app. You would get your BP online (but yes, I like paper too and disagree with the kiosk change), and notifications about gate changes, when boarding etc. It's not the best airline app out there, but it's definitely helpful - specially when there are delays, rebookings, changes etc. I think you would feel less stress with it (and checking the in terminal screens too)
Yeah. I do have the QF app, and it does normally give me notifs but from memory I wasn’t notified on there in this case.
how is it stressfull if you went to the wrong gate?
Because qantas sometimes only board for 3 minutes, and since they started boarding early while I was in the lounge and I went to the wrong gate so I was worried about missing my flight.
@@Aviation763as someone who is employed at qantas, we will board until offload time which is 10mins before departure for most flights or 12mins before departure for a dash 8
@Aviation763 steady on with the 2 minute thing. I fly QF a fair bit, domestic and int, even with delayed flights and gate changes, boarding is reasonable and a fair amount of time given. Plus of course, if you were daydreaming, you too can hear yourself paged to board :)
Thanks for sharing your flight journey
Must be hard to hold your camera filming while talking
I recently went to sydney with qantas i hate check in with phone too i like the printing boarding pass. But i am flying with virgin Australia Melbourne to perth in may do they still print boarding pass? And i fly qantas on the way home on airbus a330…
Virgin Australia still prints boarding passes, at least from my experience. Awesome!
@@Aviation763correct me if I'm wrong, but you did have a boarding pass in the end?
Does it print at the kiosk or is that a perk of the Qantas lounge?
I hate the idea of self serve too. The message it sends is they don't care about their customers and will leave them to it to figure it out for themselves. I feel really sorry for older folks who would find it very overwhelming to navigate..
Hey mate! Long time no see! Best vlog, can you try from Singapore to Denpasar please?
Hello! Thank you! That’s a route I’ll probably do at some point, but in the meantime I have a review of SQ from Denpasar to Singapore which you can check out if you havnt already :)
Only if Qatar did the Melbourne to Sydney instead of the Adelaide route
@@Aviation763 I know it’s only if you start from Doha sadly it would be cool to have a freedom flight my dad told me emirates used to do services from Melbourne to Perth
niicee
@@Aviation763 i mean i had a lot more stressful boarding than that if u wanna hear
@@Aviation763 So I had booked a melbourne to sydney flgiht departure 8:30PM, and sydney had bad weather and was using RWY25 for the majority of the day, so the plane got delayed. New departure: 22:05. We finished boarding just about at 2200, and pushed back, taxiied to the runway.... and taxiied back to the gate because we wouldn't have made the curfew... Oh well
And the second one was when my mum booked a 45 minute Domestic arrival (SYD-BNE, domestic terrinal), international departure (To Bali, so we had to go through customs and blah blah) stopover in Brisbane airport... Gosh hell no I would never do that again... got to the gate and they were near done with boarding. And apparently the lounge crew said 20 or so others were doing the exact same thing, but the terminal transfer bus which came every 15 minutes barely had 10 people on it...
Qantas is not the same great airline, it used to be. They left my luggage behind in Brisbane in December, no proper apology, no information. My luggage arrived at my place in Melbourne the following day, my new suitcase all scratched and banged up. Need to go to Sydney this year I think I best go with Virgin. I have complained to Qantas several times to no avail. Very disappointed
Yeah they definitely aren't as good as they used to be. That's so annoying! They've almost lost my baggage twice and the only reason it was found was because of an airtag.
the smile on my face when you uploaded, was a smile never seen again.
Thank you so much!
