This is Stihl profiteering at it’s very best. Take out the plugs, drill and tap, insert a grease nipple and occasionally a small amount of correct specification grease in there. Non of that fussing about with tubes. It is a mechanical object, it requires grease, one squirt and get back to work. Been using garden tools for over 50 years, maintenance is important, make it easy.

I just purchased this exact model and was hoping to find a video explaining the process. Thank you so much for a very informative and easy to follow video.

Run the unit to warm it up, then remove the plug and rev it up. The old grease with be ejected out the hole. Not all will come out, but a good bit will.

If the grease has no where to go why does it need greasing so often? Can you pysically see the grease leaking out?

It doesn’t leak out. It’s more of a deterioration of grease. After a while the grease will no longer become effective as new grease. People take them apart sometimes to wipe away the old grease.

Opened mine before and there's a few ball bearings lol I got sloppy and didn't grease for ages
Greased up now do you think it will last long with the few ball bearings loose ?
How often do you grease your gearbox
