Music in the papers of the South-African mission in the Bodleian (Philip Burnett)

As part of the Weston Library Coffee mornings in the Visiting Scholars Centre of the Weston Library, Philip Burnett (University of York) talks on a selection of materials from the papers of the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) relating to missions in 19th-century South Africa to provide a snapshot of what went into making music happen, and what this can tell us about the encounters and experience of mission life.
