      Veeery good question, I was wondering myself, I just saw your reel on IG and the quality is amazing, Ive been battling over a week with a pretty cool take I did qith my Mavic Air 2s, and I cant get IG to export it without compression and ruining it, Im really frustrated, and Ive tried all kinds of suggestions out there woth bit rate and such and nothing. I got an Android and for some reason I dont have the option of Data Usage in the IG settings to allow to upload content with higher quality, idk if thats the problema. When I upload stuff from my A7SIII no problem

      What I've been doing is trying to find the audio on YT, downloading it and using it to sync my clips in Premiere. Then when I go to upload on IG I find the audio and just place it over the video in the app. I've found that if I don't explicitly do this, it won't recognize the song and it will say it's my "original audio" which is unfortunate bc it really reduces your exposure. It would be great if it were a bit easier than this because many of the songs/ sounds aren't on YT.

    Great video, I have been trying to avoid making shorts, but realize I need to go along with the flow. I am going to attempt to make shorts out of my existing videos. So stupid question. is the IG format you describe the same for TH-cam and Facebook shorts??

    • @TimmyLodhi
      @TimmyLodhi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good question! I don't have FB so I can't speak for that but I believe it's the exact same for YT Shorts. You should be able to export one video and post it to both IG and YT without any problem.

      Thank you! I'm currently using the Samsung 28" 4K 8-Bit UE570. It works great for my needs and is generally affordable. I've had it for about 3 years so it may be time to upgrade soon.
      What I love about it, is that it displays colors very accurately to how they will appear once exports from Premiere. So I don't have to deal with that annoying color shift that happens when I export files.

    Instagram pushes reels so much more than posts. I have my woodworking projects posted regularly to instagram, and I get maybe double digits views, and ocasionally 3 digits. When I put a 15s reel of sanding a board through a drum sander, I got thousands of views and dozens of follows from it. It only makes sense because the platform never showed people my project posts.

This vertical format is really annoying when all my footage were shot in landscape. They are also for youtube, and I can't shoot both orientations for every projects. I guess I will have to shoot wider, crop left and right for instagra, and crop to and bottom for youtube. Big SMH.
