- Once I start talking, I can't stop! I've been wanting to put together a video like this for awhile, and what better time to do it than 18 hours before the next major update is released!

8:10 One more thing to add, Some hallways are actually rooms, so be careful while traversing hallways. If on tbe minimap, the hallway isnt a thin blue line, but a thicker light blue line, that hallway is considered another room. Going to the next room after this fake hallway will let the rat grab your ammo, since the game considers you as 2 rooms away instead of one.

Additional tip on red mages. NEVER use weapons with bees or homing bullets. They retain their effects when fired back.
With the AG&D update, that's often hard to control when you passive SHOOTS BEES! lol
Literally played for the first time last night and that's how I died. My own bees came back for me
Yeh, them red mages with F you right up. Also notable, the auto aim and homing don't ignore invincible enemies, so firing bees at buried miners or closed lead maidens will just waste them.
Just dodge them.

New tip: Don't bring the crest into the Boss fight

i think he is way easier than the trigger twins and i always take the crest before the bossfight cause if i take a hit in this fight than i wasnt even looking :D

This is why Hunter’s crossbow is a great example of one-killing or weakening other types of Bullet Kin. It’s SUPER EFFECTIVE, especially if you want to clear the first floor quickly. And yeah, table i-frames are a life saver tbh, that’s saved a lot of time.

If you dodge roll to the stairs in front of Bullet King as soon as the fight starts, he won't move during his attacks, and he'll be close enough to the wall behind him that his big ball attack becomes nullified by the wall. Standing in front of him, he'll never use his 3x2 side spread, and he can't hit you with the aoe bullet lines at all. If he raises both of his hands, you have to back off a little and dodge towards him through the wave to maintain position and prevent him from potentially moving away from the wall. When he readies to throw the chalice, move dramatically up and to one side of the boss and return in front of him as soon as he throws it; he'll throw it where you were headed at first, which is away from his center, keeping that space clear for you. When he spins you have to back off and weave through the bullets, however you can use this attack to adjust his position if it isn't close enough to the back wall. There is a path through the spread you can weave through up and to either side of the boss, so if you dodge the wave into the corners up there, he will subsequently move towards you and up slightly, and then you dodge diagonally down to just in front of the boss through the 3x2 spread that he will 100% launch at you.
Very good guide, I have to say, I learned some from it too. I wanted to add that you can dodge Gorgun's gaze by simply looking away - no risk of dodging into a bullet and you can start firing again a lot quicker.

The difference between dodging and looking away is negligible. You have a handful of extra frames to fire, which is not much.
Also, Gorgun doesn't fire anything after that attack? Like every attack in the game, there are recovery frames.
@@littlemoth4956 though, you may end up in a worse position afterwards. I can't remember too many details about Gorgun AI, as I've posted this commend over 2 years ago (btw, how the heck are comments this old being found xD), but I may have once had a situation where there was actually a bullet there, or I just ended up in a spot from which I'd have to move away to not get hit by the next attack. I know, the difference might be very small, but I still find looking away a better strategy, as you can't really go wrong with it as you're not repositioning.

I used to dodge roll into tables to get over bullets without moving, now I just take damadge
Another tip, don't save health pickups for another time in Bullet Hell (floor 6) as there is no place in the lvl for you to retrieve them. Instead just leave them on the ground in the rooms they drop in and then come back for them if you need to heal up.
I didn't know that since I always take damage and barely get hearts in hell, thank you for saving me some potential grief on a really good run lol

Yo just wanted to say this was SUUUPER helpful. I’m pretty alright at this game but I couldn’t never really take it to that next level. But this opened my eyes to what I haven’t been doing. I’ve been dodging waaaaay too much. I dodge when weaving is the best option and that’s typically what ends in my downfall. I also use room clearing weapons in every situation when boss killers would be better to use as well. I also learned to to dodge those pesky attacks that I always have trouble with. This guide rocks, and it helps out a lot. Thank you so much!!
One of the hardest lessons in life is shooting a scrambler at a gunjurer (red mage).

For real. I was clearing bosses and chambers super easily with that until I tried it on the gunjerer in chamber 5.. Then I lost 3 hearts in a row

The difficulty spike after chamber 3 is absolutely crazy. I have over 50 hours played and i have only ever beat chamber 4 once so far.
True. I think for mere mortals need some OP combinations of guns & items to break through further than that haha.
You have the kind of insight and expression of that insight I treasure in people. There's maybe 1 in every 10 with this capacity. Even more rare they happen to be on TH-cam and play a game like this, so I consider myself quite lucky indeed to have found you.
51:41 The Old King has the highest health in a single phase in the entire game, having about 100 HP more than Dragun phase 1
He whooped me, this homing shot always got me
His exact health (that I studied) is a little over 6000 HP

One hint: if ever you acquire a Makeshift Cannon and some duct tape, tape the cannon onto whichever weapon you have that has the biggest ammo reserve. Reason being, it DOESN'T BREAK if it's fired as an auxillary weapon like this, which makes clearing rooms and pummeling bosses a snap.
fossilized gun is the best room clearer in the game (for being a D rank gun). When I get ahold of that weapon I just spray the entire room with oil and the fire it up, and so, almost all enemies die withing seconds.
I actually love how I learned the game myself by just playing it. Its such a great satisfaction, but of course I understand people who might need this.

Additional tip: You can spare the chancellor and he will come back for a second fight in the next boss room

This video really helped, I was stuck and would take 6 to 8 hits on the mine boss but knowing that the bell attack was actually decoys and that his attacks can be avoided by going up was helpful.

Very good guide. I've finished the entire game, including collecting all of the guns and items, and still didn't know some of these tips. I wish i did...
3:06 that’s a jaw dropping amount of guns. I’ve never had more than two, but then I only play this game super casually-couple of runs to kill time once a month or so. Never have gotten past the second boss, lol.
If you're only on the second floor, 2 or 3 guns is totally fine. You don't need ALL those guns until the final stretch, where they game will mercilessly try to drain every bit of your ammo right before the last boss. More guns the better at that point.
Pro tips for this game. DONT UNLOCK ANYTHING YOU DONT HAVE TOO! This especially applies to any of the purchasable unlocks in the lobby. It literally only takes 1 or 2 of the right drop to make the rest of the run a cakewalk, most of which are available from the start of the game. Most of the unlocks are strait crap and the more things you unlock it only serves to the lessen the likelihood you will get the good ones popping up in your runs. Also when you able to, try to run in rainbow mode, as you will practically never see many of the top tier guns/items otherwise.
Of particular note the Composite Gun and the Dark Matter both of which fire blanks and make bosses almost trivial. Especially if you get dark matter and the antibody passive item, and you can just fire not stop stream of blanks to the point its likely to give you seizures.
*Really late but maybe useful tip:* you can look away instead of dodgerolling to not get frozen by Gorgun's freeze screech. This is important to know when you just dodgerolled and are surprised by it. Just flick your mouse the opposite side of where you're aiming to maximize your dps.
(He didn't talk about this freeze-thing so yeah).
One thing I think you forgot to mention about the gattling gull is that during his continuous burstfire he fires one tracking bullet ever second or 2. This one bullet is what used to hit me but if you pay attention to it you can anticipate it. The entire stream can be bypassed simply by circling except for that bullet and if you can anticipate it you can stand still for a moment while he fires it before you continue circling. This isn't very easy to describe in words but I think you already know what I'm talking about.

Fun fact about the Cannonnalrog, if you have a buddy with you it may get stuck by pinning your buddy against the wall during the phase it rolls all over the room. If this happens it will be stuck rolling in place for easy shots, this has happened to me a number of times and the boss never has never got out of it

Immensely informative video! I have a couple hundred hours in the game and consider myself a veteran player, yet I didn't even know about a lot of these nuances in the game.
There is an strategy that i use in the cannonbalrog:
When the room goes dark and he starts to fire that big bullets,go to a cornor of the room, and dodge to the walls,not to the direction that the bullets are coming from,the walls,because the bullets are going to bounce and hit you when you hit the ground if you dodge to the directions that the bullets are coming,and If you dodge to the walls,you can get a perfect timed dodge throug all bullets

Simply have patience, i have 200 hours in this game and i just beat the Lich, i was gonna say i'm still trash but after beating the game i guess i would sound stupid. But have patience, it's gonna take you a lot of time to get good at, unless you've played games like Binding of Isaac, or, turns out, Osu!, because i got my friend to start playing it and he got to Chamber 4 in less than a week.

shit man idk if I'm just really good or I am the luckiest son of a bitch this side of the Mojave because I've got 40 hours or so and I've beaten the lich.
JADEN JACKSON yeah probably. the run that I won was the run that I got Casey, feelsgoodman.
One massive tip from my experience is to avoid blue chests, but not brown ones. Brown ones can contain two items, like reimbursement items as in hearts and keys. There's also the chance of getting the insanely powerful casey if you think you're lucky enough. Blue chests aren't really good enough to open, but they aren't bad enough to potentially give you something else. Only open them if you're in absolute dire need for items, or if you can open just about any chest you find. Any other circumstance they're better off broken. A small tip to add onto that is to make sure to buy keys before heading into the next chamber, just to save money
I have no idea why but High Dragun is a cakewalk for me.
Those blasted killpilars though are the bane of my existence...
My biggest tip is rebind gun menu to something more comfertable on KB+M. I have it as rightclick and using quick switch (tapping the button to switch to you last held gun, the one with the star in the gun menu) makes weapons like the dueling laser so much better.

Super helpful, i was able to make it to the high dragun after watching this!
That's not really what i expected when i clicked the video as i didn't read the title, but this was still a nice video.
I got to the dragon twice last week and up until then I had only got to floor 4 about 3 times.
I said to myself I would get a clear this weekend and I did yesterday.
About 1 hour ago I got the robot and two peices to get the real ending.
Both times I got a clear I had the shark gun which makes life much easier.
I'm glad I stuck with it as I've been playing for around 75 hours and like I said, up until last week I'd only been to floor 5 a few times.
The more you play the more good stuff you can buy with your tokens you get from killing bosses. Like someone else said its luck to if you go to the dragon or get killed early.
But having the opportunity to be given really good guns and items, because you have unlocked the with tokens, will give even people who isn't think they are very good, a chance at getting a clear.
When I play ETG, I rarely even get to the hollow, but after watching this video I think I might be able to get to the forge and maybe even fight the High Dragun!
Ah.. enter the gungeon, where you can be a bullet carrying a bullet that shoots guns which the guns also shoot bullets.

27:00 when I got to the ammoconda for the first time, i only had 2 health, and lost one right away, but I ended scraping by no hit. One of the most intense things I’ve done and it felt great.

That's genius and high risk, high reward which I think is exactly what a BulletHell game is all about!
This is great and all, but the moat room for Gatling Gull is the second easiest for me because if you roll across the gaps the gulls bullets are a lot easier to dodge and he can't get in your face when hes spraying his gun. On top of that, he has to jump to you to get across each gap so you can predict his jumps and just roll to a different platform
Totally incorrect.
In that room, you have no way of blocking the shots.
In every other room, you have some form of cover.
Due to his relatively low HP, you shouldn't be left with much HP after expending all cover.

19:53 a little tip to avoid the big bullet ball..just fight him near the top wall so everytime he launch the ball it will hit the wall..LOL

There's another way to cheese high dragun. if you have betrayers sheild once you enter if you create a shield the high dragun won't be able to hit you as long as you keep reloading
