Cheers Jon! Glad to see you liked the 5 Oak release, and that you've got a Tuath glass for more Irish Whiskey tasting! Oh, and thanks so much for the shout-out and kind words!
Good review Jon that Jameson is very good IMO And worth 80C$ By the way on the back of the bottle in French it’s the tasting notes and cask description Congrats for 8k and cheers from Quebec
Thanks! I thought that was what was going on back there, but my French is really poor. Disappointingly so for a Canadian. This one is really good, certainly much, much better than the standard blend. Cheers!
I hope my notes helped. Over all, much better than their regular releases, and it is starting out to be better than other Pot Stills in this bracket. Cheers!
Hey Jon. If you can, check out the Lambay Malt Whiskey Cognac Cask or their Lambay Single Malt. Both definitely pack more of a punch than the blend. Worth a try! 👍🏻
Good review Jon. The Single Pot Still is the big feature at my whisky club this month and after hearing your take I am looking forward to it. The price is the main pullback for me as well. Are there better offerings? Yes but I am not a huge Irish whiskey guy so I would likely buy a scotch lol but still sounds interesting. We need to see you try out the “backpack”😂Cheers.
Running out of different Irish releases to join in with. Gonna be a long 'month'! 😉 This Jameson's 5 is probably vastly improved, simply because of the higher ABV. Enough so that I wouldn't mind trying it. I only have the Stout version, which is fine as an easy dram on a quiet evening, but overall it's not my favourite brand. Hadn't heard of the other. Interesting new glass you have there. Joining in tonight with Yellow Spot 12, which may have to pull double duty over the next few weeks. Dang! Just checked, and YS 12 has jumped $20 since I picked this one up exactly one year ago. BAH! Well, at least it still seems to be coming in the 750 ml bottle. Been a bit of a tough week, so it was great to see this pop up. It reminded me to slow things down, and to take a little time to reflect. Cheers, my friend 🥃🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
So glad I could help slow things down a bit. Sadly, I am out of Yellow Spot, but from memory I would prefer that a bit more. Still, this is very tasty and way, way better then the regular Jameson. Cheers!
Ah good timing, I’m also releasing my first thoughts on this tomorrow! I kind of follow your sentiment, I like it but was underwhelmed as well, if the price was lower, for me £35-40 I’d say it was very good but not for £50. I don’t blame the whisky, just a pricing issue for me, duty free from cork I picked it up for £41 so not too many complaints my end! But the black barrel proof was the same price as this is and for me that is far far better than this is. I would’ve liked more wood spice and prickliness from all those wood influences too so I find it a little disapppointing but not a bad whiskey. I didn’t get a backpack with mine though 😂
I had to drive to Ottawa to get a bottle but it is delicious. It is wayyy too spendy but as a treat it was really nice. It is better than RB 12 and miles better than Greenspot. I wanted to find a pot still Irish I liked and this is by far the best.
So glad you picked this one up! I was just looking at it. You’re the man.
I continue to enough this one, hope you do to, cheers!

I really appreciated your oak walkthrough. Cheers!
Great review. Haven't tried teh Single Pot so it's now on my list!
It's a good dram!
Thanks for the review, I've been on the fence as it's £50 here. Cheers Jon😉
A solid Pot still with lots of oak!
Solid review my friend. I am officially on the hunt for the 5 cask.
Work having in the bar! Cheers!
5 casks and 92 proof sounds very interesting!
@@DileepB it's good and seems to be improving with a bit of time

I found it on clearance at one of the LCBO stores in Ontario for cad61.
The Jameson Pot Still? Wow, great deal!
I was debating on picking up this bottle 👍🏻
I hope my notes helped. Over all, much better than their regular releases, and it is starting out to be better than other Pot Stills in this bracket. Cheers!

A good idea. This was ok, but fairly light.
Exactly! I’ve tried the others and they’re definitely closer to the mark. Far more complex. 👍🏻

Right, the backpack influenced me :) Actually had another pour of it later in the night. I think it's growing on my. Not amazing, but good Pot Still.

Thanky you for sharing your thoughts here. I'll try it again after a bit, now that it's open. Sounds even better than my first thoughts! Cheers!
