My name is Patricia Ciorescu, and recently I discovered a new hobby that makes my life better and more colorful, I'm talking about SCRAPBOOKING!
What is Scrapbooking? A short story.
Scrapbooking is a form of art taht has it's roots in Ancient Greece. Only in the 80's it got to it's modern form, attracting more and more fans.
Scrapbooking is a creative method to document our personal story by album pages. It is based on photos, around which you're supposed to decorate, depending on each one's imagination. Those scrapbooking pages are collected together in albums, which tell a very interesting story. Along with photos you can also add some words that represent you or your feelings.
After hundreds of years, our albums will be understandable to the next generations.
By scrapbooking a lot of others unique creations can be done like greeting cards, colages, calendars, agendas, notebooks, markbooks, design articles, christmas tree decorations, frames, jewerly boxes or anything else that comes in the head. The imaginations is the key to art.
A few advantages of this hobby, called SCRAPBOOKING
1) Scrapbooking is educational for kids. Not only does it develop the artistic abilities and skills, but also develops organizational capacity, stimulates verbal and non-verbal expression skills, but also boost the self-confidence. Also, scrapbooking can create and maintain bonds between kids parents and grandparents always...
2) Scrapbooking is a very creative form of socialization: everywhere in the world, scrappers organize regularly meetings (''crops''), where they create, exchange ideas, learn about new techniques and products, but also, they relax and meet new nice people.
3) For everyone that is passioned by greeting cards, invitations to some special occasions like a wedding or anything like that, scrapbooking is a win-win from a financial point, that can be after transformed into a business.
For an activity handy to kids, we need:
-Glue and tape
-cardboard for scrapbooking (without acid and lignin)
printed paper
-scrissors
-magazines
-markers
-album
Tips for beginners :)
1. Choose a principal photo and 1-2 secondary
2. It's not essential that every page has a photo, scrapbooking can be completed with various stuff, depending on the theme
3. Glue carefully and use only high quality glue not to burn the paper
4. Try and used colored paper in different prints to create a new model for each page
5. Be creative and try to make accordion pages by gluing together some sheet of paper. This trick looks awesome in a scrapbook.
6. Create pockets on different pages that will add a mysterious note, inside which you can put stuff like tickets or photos or notes.
7. Give an interesting title to your scrapbook but also to any events you would like to epmhasize. As I already mentioned in the beginning, scrapbooking should tell a real life story, maintaing alive the memory of the one who did it.
