You know, I was cleaning-out the close this weekend when I thought, "Where the heck has Max been?...not that I follow more than a handful of reviewers these days. The fragrance community is SHITE, but that's another story. Anyway, I have hundreds of bottles in the closet (aka Scent Armory) but I was actually going through my old suits and a couple boxes filled with my old watches which made me think of you. Back in day (2002-2016) I routinely routinely changed into a suit, or at least a nice pair of slacks and dress shirt, when I commuted into one of my offices/sites in The District. I just couldn't folk-over 2-5K for a suit, but I stayed away from crap at Men's Warehouse and Jos A. Bank. I managed to get a few "good quality" suits from Brooks Brothers (on sale or from their outlet stores) and, surprisingly, I found some excellent quality Stafford Executive suits from JP Penny back in the day when they were made by HarxMarx and the store didn't suck. Sure, they were a little more traditional and boring than the high-priced designers, but good-quality boring was what I needed doing government and defense work. Plus, I picked-up three Hickey-Freemen sports jackets that I would wear with jeans and a t-shirt for a more casual look. Sadly, my watches have been sitting in the close for 8-years since carrying a smartphone and not having to dress-up, which always facilitated reaching for a nice time piece. I mainly work three day from home, and two in the office directing cybersecurity for a bank here in TX. I do like the informal attire (jeans and polo or casual button down) but I do miss dressing-up from time-to-time. It's a different business environment. I also moved boxes of dress shoes out to the storage room since they were still gather dust - mostly business class Mercanti Fiorentini and Bruno Magli, but they're practically new because I commuted in jeans and sneakers and changed at the office. Regardless, I've been wearing casual boots and these boot-sneaker things (I call 'em shoebooties) because they look good (casual), are very well made, and are very comfortable with my bad knees. They're designed by a company called HELM here in TX and made in Brazil. I guess that's why I miss your fragrance reviews...get into other important crap like cloths, watches, shoes and soaps.
