👋Hey there it's Wes. If you have a project or specific woodworking question you would like answered, I can send you a personalized video. Please go to www.woodworkingwithwes.com. I would love to help out...thanks.
Hey Wes, welcome to the new knee club. I've had two total knee replacements, the first last October and the second in February. The first few weeks are horrible, but even though it hurts, the PT is the key to coming back. I'm still hurting, but I'm better every week. I'll be honest: getting down and back up from the floor requires advanced planning and an exit strategy. I have back surgery coming up later this year. 25 years of law enforcement takes its toll on knees, hips, and backs. My woodworking business is my retirement exit plan, so I want to get all the new parts before I retire. Be well, and look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hey...thanks for the good info, glad to be part of the club! I know what you mean about PT...I am getting better every week also. 😀 Take care, thanks for being part of the community. Wes
Hi...I am referring you to this video: th-cam.com/video/N953m9v6B0A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jgVTiBNMOauIq29o Just adjust the measurements to the size of your fence. Hope this helps! Thanks, Wes
Hello!Great work! I was wondering if you do inside house jobs? We currently need to repaint our wooden stairs. Thank you in advance! FYI we are located in NY. (not sure if that’s where you are) We enjoy watching your beautiful work!
Hi Wess. I am very glad that you are back. All I can do is to ask almighty to help you to recover as fast as possible. This was another masterpiece as same as before. I see you have sawstop on some videos and powermatic on others. Which table saw do you recommend for a DIY individual? I appreciate your input.
Hi...thanks for the welcome back! Sawstop has some great safety features, ot available on Powermatic. Powermatic has some capabilities not available on Sawstop. My suggestion is always for safety if you are a beginner or DIYer. Wes
Glad you're doing well, Wes. Quick question....where do you purchase your 5/8 material? I can't find it here in the Midwest at any of the normal big box stores. They can't even order it.
Hi...I purchased mine from the wholesale lumber suppliers that service the cabinet shop industry. Typically, they also will sell retail. If you are unable to find a wholesale supplier, check with a local cabinet shop and they should be able to tell you where to find it. Hope this helps, Wes
Glad you are over the worst of the knee operation. It can be painful I have been told by people who have had it done, but great afterwards. I an due my second hip replacement at the end of next month.Looking forward to no joint pain. Muscular discomfort like a big bruise afterwards, but it doesn't last long. But like you I will be away from my toys till the Doc says so.😐

Hi...thanks for your well wishes, I am looking forward to getting back to it full force as I am starting slow. Wes
What is the advantage of taking the shallow rabbet/rebate in the drawer sides? It doesn't look like it would add much gluing surface.
Hi...the shallow cut removed the pre-finished surface of the baltic birch, creating an unfinished gluing surface that will hold. Thanks, Wes
Wes, great technique, I want to try it. What blade do you use to get that flat bottom in your rabbet?
Hi...I use a 50 tooth combination blade that made a square bottom cut. Thanks for watching! Wes
