We have waited 21 years for marriage equality to apply to us. On July 10, 2013 after DOMA was finally struck down, and prop 8 invalidated, my partner of more than two decades asked me to be his fiance.

So happy for you 2 . I know relationships can be hard work and now ya'll are coming up on 27 years together . When I heard him say that ya'll had been together for 22 years I started crying because that is so sweet and i'm so happy for you 2 .i've never had much more than a long weekend with a man but in my case most of the men who want more with me are already married to women and try to get me to be their male version of a mistress on the side & i'm not willing to be that no not even for the man who offered to buy me a house and support me financially . I refuse to be anyone's dirty little secret . You guys are role models for us all Huggs :)
