Very useful and a great tip on attaching the bottom motor mount screw while out of the car! Maybe I'm missing something but why is the bottom of the diff case open? Seems like a great way for grease to leak out?
Is there supposed to a lot of play/slop in the spur gear? Meaning, does your spur gear slide back and forth on the shaft (not talking about mesh)? For some reason, mine does...haven’t had a chance to break it down. Now I’m wondering if I’m missing the bearing.
I appreciate the videos re: the K8s. Not sure if I was clear with my last comment, but I was looking to see if you have slop with the spur gear shaft? With my K8s, I can move slide that shaft a couple mm.
Great video I have the rtr k8 but alot of exb parts now my gears are the same very beefy gears working on making my own chassis I work at race an speed shop with a cnc machine 7mill thick chassis
I went ahead And pulled front middle and rear differentials out I put half of a silicone air plug in the center and then I put 500 K in the front and a special little mix that puts me around 200 K in the rear. I’m gonna take it out tomorrow give it a rip with that 29/39 gearing again and then I’m gonna swap some gearing give it another shot just to see how things are

Which spur gear will make it faster? Smaller or big? Im not sure bc its not a traditional two gear system...

Hey there, yeah mind moves forward and back slightly too. XMaxx does the same thing. I think it helps with deflection.

so helpful. finally i subscriped....update: today i had to change the spur gear. sl56113 with 39T and 47T won't fit. now i'm fine with 39/39.

Can I change the pinion when I change the spurs?
Of course! Just be mindful of how aggressive you are gearing it. Keep an eye on motor temps, etc.

I was running a 29, just switched to a 39
