    This process is a brilliant way to put a productive spin on the messy process of creating something. Wan't more Notion/productivity/creativity sign-up to my email list for occasional snippets: www.getrevue.co/profile/bettercreating

    Hi Simon, I've been using Notion for more than 6 months, and I'm always looking for videos that teach me how to generate content for TH-cam with Notion ... but despite having seen more than 50 videos: yours surprised me by its originality, creativity and above all the professionalism when developing the content story. I would love to see a Live as you develop the Storyteling of a video.
    Greetings from Paraguay, South America!

      This is so great to hear Jorge; thanks. Yes, it's a nice idea: I'd like to share some more content on story stuff and how it can help creators more widely. There are some great ideas in the playwriting/screenwriting world that can really unlock creative ideas. Watch this space. Thanks for your support and hello right back at you from London.

    Hi Simon,
    Absolutely love your videos, I have watched this one several times to help me build my creating template. It’s a long work in progress but it’s getting there.
    I was wondering if you would make an up to date video of content creation - with the updates like automations etc in Notion.
    Thanks.

    An issue when you showcase your iPad screen is that we don’t see where you’re tapping. So, stuff changes but we have no clue what that was. On a computer, instead, we can follow the mouse pointer.

    I really like your channel! How do you subscribed. I have been a student of story for quite a while now. Tim smoyer introduced me to it. My problem is I have trouble implementing it. I’m sort of a slow learner.I’ve got tons of notes on story.
    I was wondering if you could share your Notion template like that one guy did? You know that big popular TH-camr that uses Notion?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi: if you go to bettercreating.com/downloads you can download my templates as you suggest. Also check out my Notion Builds Playlist where you can see many videos taking you through step-by-step how to build each section if you would prefer to learn to build for yourself! To subscribe, just be signed in to TH-cam, and click the subscribe video bottom right under any video. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Simon. I really struggle to keep track of my images: photos, graphic stuff I have made myself, images from the internet, images from old newspapers etc. And footage to embed in videos, too. Of course I keep track of basic information but I find it difficult to set up a database - maybe like your BoI - but for images. It is not the actual setup that puzzles me, but the structure/layout. A Notion table will be too slow or maybe not if I only include thumbnails. Any ideas?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marianne, I know what you mean. I think the best option is to work on a clear and searchable folder structure - I create an ASSETS folder on my editing SSD harddrive for example that I put all the visual and sound material (stock footage for videos and so on) so that it's available when I need it. Yes - Notion doesn't feel like the best way to track what you list - unless you created an index in it that correlated with your folder system. One to think about! Maybe the structure should be something like media type < genres & subject < year or month added...

    My problem is that, with apps like these, I tend to spend all my time in the app and I end up not doing any productive work. How much time per day does it take to manage your management? My alternative is to just "wing it," which has worked alright so far, but it has its drawbacks...

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that I have it all set up and working (which of course takes more time to start with), it now easily halves the time I spend over a week on the channel and allows me to work further ahead in advance, and actually have more time with learning, writing, messing around with new ideas. Highly recommend building or using a personal productivity system IF it ultimately simplified your process and gives you more time. Love it.

    ey man ! great video. got a lot of inspiration from it for my own notion. especially your "home" dashboard looks amazing.
    i wonder two things. first. did you come up with it yourself? if so, will you do in depth videos of it and the structure of it? would be amazing.
    second. do you use any system like p.a.r.a oder p.p.v or did you just come up with it yourself?
    great vid ! :)
    abrazo from vienna

      Hi, thanks for watching and great to hear it’s inspiring your own system. My system is a mix of things really: the video creating database is based on a template from Thomas Frank which I reworked, and edited to integrate with my wider Notion home page (linking it into my Bibliography of Inspiration etc). The main home page: I’ve just got inspiration for watching other people, reading Getting Things Done, and searching for specifics on how to automate it. I don’t use p.a.r.a but someone who inspired me does so maybe that’s why you see overlap. Makes sense. Hope that helps: don’t know if you’ve seen them but I have videos on creating the Task and Project lists and the BOI in my channel so check those out. :)
