Lovely journal! I especially like your key closure and that cute litle 3-D heart in the center of the signature. The faces of those sweet girls peeking over the pocket edges is fantastic!! ~ Elizabeth
Carol - this is one of the best journals that I’ve seen. Lots of journal places. Also lots of clever ideas also - loved the envelope closure over the belly band. Especially loved the center of the signature. You’re very good with stenciling. Many decorative edges really make this a special journal. Superb job.

That is a really good looking journal. For me, I don't mind a bit of lace and ribbon, and some of the the journals I have seen with a lot of lace and ribbon do look nice, but I'm not a huge fan of going over board with it. Just as long as there is enough decoration on these kinds of journal to still be functional is good. Same goes for the kind of junk journals I make. I make more art or junky type of junk journals, and even I don't put awhile of lace or ribbon in the journals I have made.

I dont use them at the minute as I teach and use them as examples at one of my classes. Im in the process of making some to sell at the minute as well. So I get them out occassionally, flick through them and just look at the prettiness of them all lol Carol xx

Hi Sharon thanks for your comments :) Ive just loaded some more videos that I hope you will also enjoy. I used a large chenille needle with crochet cotton which I ran through bees wax first andattached my pages using the pamphlet stitch. Hope that helps :)

Carol hi, I've had a real Carol fest this afternoon :-) Another beautiful and (sew) inspiring journal :-) Each journal has new and interesting techniques as well as twists on old favourite techniques. I cannot resist asking a question or two.I am such a beginner! Luckily, some have already been asked :-) Can I ask you how you did the little spinning clasp? Is it a brad? I love the little hearts and can't wait to see your tutorial and how did you make your home made washy tape? Lastly, I promise, can I ask where you get your beautiful stencils from? Im sure you will be fed up of hearing my voice by now Angela lol Spinning clasp was a brad...... I put micropore on a sheet of freezer paper and ran it through the printer ..... stencils off ebay, amazon and some from HC - I think the ones I used in this journal are Tmi Holtz designs. Have sent you a friend request on FB :) x
Hi Laura I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I use 2 regularly and they are Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain and occasionally I use Antique Linen for a subtle back ground. Hope that helps :)
Hi Sue - Not thick at all :) It takes a little while to understand all terminology when you start out. A signature is a collection of pages that are all grouped together. If you look at most books, at the spine, You will see its made up of a collection of grouped pages (signatures) This is to help to make the pages lie flat in a book. Hope that helps :) xx
