    There is NO ugly stage! The use of negative adjectives has no place in the lock journey. The entire journey is beautiful.

      I had a coworker tell me about going through the ugly stage for 1 he aint got no hair so step with that nonsense & 2nd I agree, I'm confident in my looks so I feel for me I am not experiencing an ugly stage.

    My first set which I had for three months were two strand twist liked them but I knew I wanted thicker locs and for thick locs combs coils are the best option because they allow the hair to "expand" vs tucking them into eachother two strand method or braids. Comb coils are the best option for thick locs they allow the loc to "Swell" more easily💜

    • @wangarimaina5686
      @wangarimaina5686 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Actually, comb coils make thinner locs because the inside of the coil is hollow, so the loc has to shrink up before it is solid

    • @victoryisyourportion
      @victoryisyourportion 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@wangarimaina5686 I guess it just depends because this set is much thicker than the last set I had and they were two strand twists

    • @wangarimaina5686
      @wangarimaina5686 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@victoryisyourportion Is the number of locs you have the same as before? Maybe you had more locs before which made them thinner

    • @victoryisyourportion
      @victoryisyourportion 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@wangarimaina5686first set I had 90-95 locs with this set i have 75 locs. The misconception behind comb coils being thinner is because when some people retwist they go down the full length of the loc using a technique called "loc Smithing". Some use this technique for a more uniformed loc or smaller loc. But when my loctitian retwist my hair she only retwist my roots leaving my hair kind of fluffy at the ends I believe this help attribute to my locs being thicker that and a bigger part size.

    • @genesissapphire4134
      @genesissapphire4134 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@victoryisyourportion I agree! My comb coils are thick and I only retwist my roots every 2 months!!! I have bigger parts !

    Good advice, I was searching for info like this before I installed my twists, but just found this. I opted for twists because I would struggle to do comb coils myself, and most videos I've watched it appears that you have to use product to achieve it, which I didn't want but I love how pretty comb coils look...tfs

      Yes, you can remove coils after one week . I would suggest unraveling the coil with your fingers (by turning the hair in the opposite direction) using conditioner and a wide tooth comb. Wash condition and detangle😊
