Actually ang 1.2L engine ay hindi talaga involve sa drivetrain. It's solely driven by an electric motor na powered by the battery power pack. Ang 1.2L engine just serves as a charger / generator to automatically recharge the battery pag ma sense ng system na need na e recharge ito. So it is a pure electric vehicle na may built-in na generator (1.2L engine) para no need ka na mag recharge at home pag low battery level na.
Maganda itong transition vehicle habang wala pang charging infrastructure ang Pilipinas. Ang pagkakaalam ko, mas efficient ang ICE (internal combustion engine) nito dahil tuned siya for charging the battery only, not driving the wheels. Not sure kung Atkinson Cycle din itong ICE na ito (mas efficient ang power output). Interested ako sa Regenerative Braking nito kasi yung nasasayang na energy sa braking for normal cars, binabawi nito upang ma-charge ang battery. Anong Drive mode po yung may regenerative braking? Oras na rin mapalitan yung 12 year old Toyota Innova Diesel ko. Isa ito sa mga tinitingnan kong kapalit. Pero most likely na Hybrid ang ipapalit ko. Thanks for the review Atoy. 👍🏽

Sa Kicks parang nag-conventional internal combustion engine ka lang na may extra steps and extra weight para masabi lang na naka-EV. PHEV makes much more sense than Kicks. For 1.3 to 1.5M budget, mag-ICE ka na lang, pareho lang na walang range anxiety at pareho lang din na full time gasoline dependent.

This is not entirely apples-to-apples due to difference in ICE and EV motor but for example, the incoming Yaris Cross HEV, which has a parallel hybrid engine/motor, is calculated to have a fuel consumption of 23Km/L with a rated 98hp(PS) and 142nm of torque while the Kicks, a series hybrid engine/motor is calculated to have around 21Km/L. A bit less than the Yaris Cross but it has a rated power and torque of 136hp(PS) and 280nm. The Kicks has about 42% more hp and about 100% more torque than the Cross Hybrid while losing only 2Km/L on the fuel efficiency. If you want more features though, the Corolla Cross Hybrid though is the way to go.

Yup it is a hybrid or hev sir, nissan just change the term calling like phev means plug in hybrid electric vehicle,,, or unless the technology has been upgraded develop by nissan which the function is becoming full electric drive while in use and no speed limiter when using the charge.but i think nissan just made a different term instead of using the term hybrid.

Ang issue nakikita ko dito yung maintenance nung generator. Bale tatlong major component ang imamaintain the ICE that charges the batter, DC motor at battery. Continuous ba yung takbo nung generator?
Automatic po ang pagandar ng generator. If needed lng para efficient. Same concept ng climate control sa mga aircon. Sa maintenance naman. Sb ng Nissan 6 months 1st pms or every 10,000 kms. Which ever comes first. So sa tingin k mas tipid sa maintenance cost compare to ICE vehicles.
when it comes to eco friendly full epower like tesla is better but when it comes to practicallity this kind of hybrid is better. because it is much cheaper. yes it still produce air polution but it is less than full gass powered car. the car is cheaper using gas as generator is more practical than plug charging when it comes to long ride and emergencies. lets say you need to go to er at night. and you forgot to charge since the next day is a rest day. you cant just wait and plug. someone might actually die. but with this you can just go for a quick gas about 200 or 500 php will do depends on where you will go. unless you have a spare battery for a full battery powered vehicle this hybrid is way better.
The power is also the name written in your shirt.....JESUS......God bless atoy...
