Are they suitable for improving beginners?
I'm now retired and all-being-well will be trying skiing again next season as a mature beginner - I'll be 67 for the next season. I'll be able to go three times next season, and to save costs I intend to rent for the three holidays. I'll be buying my own fitted boots & socks - Ellis Brigham - and apart from base and middle layers I will rent all the rest. So long as nothing bad happens next season, the 2025 season I'll be 🤞beyond the basics and will be able to do parallel turns comfortably, and will want my own ski's to improve on, hence my question.

L-R skis is nonsense if you are skiing more than 20 days a season. If you are full time you are gonna hit stuff; and most of the damage at the time occurs on the Inside edge. So you flip 'em and have a sharper edge on the inside as the day progresses. If you really take a hit; damage to an edge; once in a while may actually create a L-R ski as the broken edge must go on the outside edge after the ski-surgeon puts it back together.
The other point is that if you are Serious; you have had The Boot Lecture and have everything dialed in. This Symmetry is why None of the other real manufacturers speak of L-R skis.

These skis are for groomed slopes. You don't wear the skis as much on groomed piste. And you should sharpen your skis after 3 or 4 days on hard surfaces. You don't feel small damages on the edges. If you carve the skis the right way you can skis more days. If you go off piste it's more common to damage the edges.
Most edgegrip is from the construction of the skis, than from sharp edges. The edges are harder than most types of the snow. You only need really sharp edges on hard ice. I've been preparing skis for over 20 years. Elans intension with this construction is that the skier could ski with less effort and not get tired too quick.

Lots of marketing nonsense. If asymmetric left-right skis were such a big thing more brands would get into it. But hey, anything to distinguish yourself from the competition. Anyway, it’s true that they are beautifully crafted skis, just rather expensive compared to others.
