(Editors note: Little Blue Penguins were Misidentified as African Penguins at :55 in video, Thanks Neil for the catch) Thanks for Joining us on this short trek through the Islands at the Louisville Zoo! Most of the habitat was not open at the time of our visit at the end of the summer. Leave us a comment let us know some of the exhibits you would like to see in the future. If you are new to the channel here's a video to get you started th-cam.com/video/4y9QNmqxpgc/w-d-xo.html
I love how colorful the entrance to the islands was with the butterfly garlands. The penguins and their exhibit were fun to watch. That tortoise was huge. Those Komodo dragons seemed to be soaking up the reys. 👍🏼
I really enjoyed the lantern displays they had throughout the zoo. Glad you enjoyed the video! Hopefully we can tour it again when everything is fully open.
The animal enclosures look very large, green and beautiful. And the animals have retreat options. Thank you for this zoo trip! Many greetings, Anita Stay healthy!!
@@ZoosTravelers Its a free facility, So your probably getting the best you could get for something of the zoos size. It has some somewhat rare species such as Blue-eyed black lemurs and various little tropical birds, so I think its worth the visit.
Ya know, it seems like "goals" to live in an environment like those animals for like a week if that pool was warm. Like who wouldnt like to live on a tropical island like that for at least a few days xD Weird conclusion to take from this video, but it's a break from the "It's this penguin not that penguin" xD
Lol! That would be an awesome, a tropical island during the winter months sounds like a good plan to me, especially when I lived up north (though 50 and 60 degree weather is freezing down here)
Those are not African penguins but little blue penguins btw, one of the only zoos in the country to have them as well as Cincinatti and they are the smallest penguins in the world

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a very beautiful area, will go back one day and capture it when its fully open. Have a great rest of the week!
Congratulations on 1k!
I unfortunately missed this zoo, it looks very nice and I hope I can get back.
Thank you! I appreciate the continued support. I hope you can visit it, it has some really nice habitats. I would like to go back when its fully open.
At 0:55, the penguins were misidentified as African Penguins. Those are Little Blue Penguins.
Thank you! I will put a note under the video
🏝

I sure can, give me a couple of weeks to get it edited!
0:55 No No NO! Those Are Fairy Penguins Not African Penguins
I made an editors note in the description. That was a mistake, I'm not sure how I let that slip by.
@@ZoosTravelers well it could’ve been worse it could’ve said Tasmanian Devil
Lol! I would have throw in the towel if that happened
Good job on the video, have you ever considered going to the Minnesota zoo?
Thank you! I have, I'm hoping to visit there next year. Would you recommend the como park zoo as well?

Thank you for the info! I will put that on my visit list
No problem!

I love how it sounds like the penguins are singing to the music!
They were going to town that day!

Thank you for the catch, I made a note of it in the description. I really enjoyed seeing them at both zoos!
