I make sure to watch every single time Amy is on. So wholesome, pretty, funny & has such a soothing beautiful succinct voice with that slight Texan draw. Jr sure did well. I unfortunately never got lucky enough to ever find the one but seeing others that have makes me feel good to know others have. Of course no one's life is perfect nor is any human but... some get closer than others. God Bless : )

I loved listening to Amy telling stories about her family and Easter w the kids. And your ‘Dale Jr special’. Her people sound super fun. My grandkids love floribama beaches and the OWA park out there. Lots to do and see along the coast that’s kid friendly. Mine are 3 & 5 yrs old so they’re game for almost anywhere they can run wild.

Amy is always a joy when she shows up on the download. I hope they continue to have her back on. I got to meet and have a picture taken with her a couple years ago at the Nascar Hall of Fame induction ceremony when Dale got inducted. Water suggestion for when there are more than one campers using the water at Amy's parents home....hook up to the water source when you arrive, and fill up your fresh water tank. Then switch over to using the water pump to help keep the water pressure up. I've been RV'ing for years, and have learned a few tricks of the trade.

I left Richmond Raceway Sunday night holding back tears. I knew NASCAR had f**ked Richmond for the final time. I live 9 miles from that track, for the last 25 years I call that place home for 2 weekends a year.
Please Dale, do everything you can in your power to save and fix the on track product Richmond Raceway.

I don’t buy tires due to anything to do with racing. I didn’t even know they were racing Sunday. Lol. I don’t watch it anymore. I used to not miss anything to do with nascar if it was on tv or radio back in the day. I even called my local radio station to complain to no avail when they quit playing races on the radio. To keep kicking the dead horse… Nascar lost me several years ago for more reasons than one and I haven’t missed it. I used to like the old Richmond-fairgrounds bullring type of track. Guess I’m one of the lost old school fans. I’ll still watch races from back in the day sometimes and shows that talk about that era but that’s it. Also, I agree… they shouldn’t race on Easter Sunday. I always thought they shouldn’t race on Mother’s Day. Lol Let the teams be home with their families.

Regarding the tire wear point: that could be flipped to “we make a tire that’s going 200mph” or something similar. Champion the levels of grip, g forces they pull in the corner, etc. If it’s good enough for those circumstances, it’s good enough for your car. Something along those lines.

Used to be, NASCAR never raced on Easter Sunday or Mother's Day. If anything, supporting series raced on Saturday but the big boys never ran on those 2 hallowed days.
Why can't they race every Richmond on Saturday night? Short tracks are made for Saturday nights! I loved it when we used to look at the old Cup schedule and be able to point at August and September - you knew there were 2 night races guaranteed. And in the summer, when hot and humid, sticky days turned into a chance of mean storms, having the Sunday afternoon available as a backup was sorta built in as a last resort.

I agree that the tire compound is the most important aspect in how a race plays out. The Balls are gone and when you lose your Balls you are done. It's not right to take a race away from Richmond. NASCAR and Goodyear need to work together on tire compound for most tracks. That was what made for great races in the 80's. It built the interest in the sport.

Oh forgot to mention Denny definitely jumped but got a way with it, thats a win, nascar needs to draw a hard line in the sand from now on. Lap 1 or 399 doesn't matter, one complete restart warning per driver, unless you do it egregiously on a well known fuel mileage race its no warning, pass through.

Question, if Martin just blipped the throttle that made the car hesitate a second or just let off for some reason, wouldn't it technically appear that Denny jumped? My point is, if they just have throttle and speed sensors, they can compare that up to the line and know for matter of fact if someone jumped.

Couple notes. I do believe Truex was playing his own strategy on the restart to gain an advantage. Truex was still on his door all the way down the front stretch and into 1. It was a jump by Denny, but its not like he was clear into 1. The only one complaining about the jump was Truex. Joey had no problem because they all do it and have at one point gotten away with similar things. As far as RWR goes, the eye test sees a big jump from years past. Which is great to see considering they've usually been a waste of a charter spot or two.

I remember that 2000 Texas spring race first win by Earnhardt Jr yes he's right did lost the clutch after checkered flag even The Intimidator was in victory lane then to congrats his son.

In those cars you only need the clutch to start basically. They can shift up or down in the old cars by blipping the throttle.

I know Michigan International Speedway used to have Father's day races, but people would make plans to go to the race for Father's Day with their father and most would spend the entire weekend with their father and brothers and/or sisters at the track celebrating Their Dad... BUT racing on EASTER SUNDAY is just Ridiculous.

Love the show. Maybe its just my laptop but it sounds like the music levels are either too high or the vocals too low. I think the vocals are probably too low bc I have to turn it all the way up to hear it all with all thats going on at work but I don’t have to do that with anything else.

Starting at the 13:00 , the point Dale Jr makes about sealing the track is totally valid. I remember in the mid to late 90s into the 2000s, the Sawyer brothers would seal the track and it made for fantastic 2,3, sometimes even 4 wide racing around the track. After the Sawyer's left, new management has not sealed the track and it is now single groove around the place and is simply boring. I refuse to spend money to go to RIR to see that.

"it's what happened in the 80s and 90s"
The 90s saw the worst of the tire wars and it did incredible amounts of damage to the sport. Teams were chasing the tires that folks complain about. Tires that don't fall off and hold their speed over the run.
We live with the byproduct of that 'heyday.'
Bristol was excellent because no one has to worry about a Hoosier or Dunlop or Pirelli developing a better tire than what exists and it competing. We can have that kind of tire when the manufacturer is protected. We need to embrace that more and keep striving for a better version of that tire.

Great points on the restart debacle. I feel the bigger question is... at the end of the race with MTJ less than1/2 a lap away from taking the white flag... when Larson spins out, touches nothing, drops nothing onto the track, why throw the yellow in the first place?! I feel like NASCAR screwed MTJ over with the yellow! He did everything right on managing tires. He managed his tires far better than anyone else, his laps led proves it! NOW... an altercation happens that doesn't disrupt the race/endanger other competitors they drop a yellow when, in many occasions, someone spins close to the end of a stage/race, touches nothing, drops nothing onto the track and is able to safely continue on, they don't throw a yellow and allow racing to continue!! Why is what happened at the end of Richmond any different? I feel NASCAR stole this from Martin!
Lastly... restarts. Why are drivers in control of the asylum? Isn't that what the NASCAR & the flag stand is for? Here's my take on what needs to happen; have a defined "restart zone" clearly painted on each track. The starter, and only the starter, waving the green flag & the green lights coming on designates the start/restart of a race. The flag stand will NOT wave the green until the leader enters the restart zone and WILL wave the green at any point while the leader is within the restart zone. he starter can (and should, in my opinion) vary the times they start/restart the race. If the leader/2nd place car doesn't get a good reaction to the green flag waving and/or a good restart, then so be it! That's on the drivers to earn their money and get a strong start/restart! This also avoids any driver from starting outside of the start/restart zone and/or "gaming" the system... in my opinion. PS: love the pod casts!!! Keep 'em comin'!!

@@jamiethornton6101The original poster means, When Denny gets jumped, he whines and cries and screams to daddy NASCAR, stamping his widdle webbed feet and throwing a tantrum, throws shade at the officials, and throws the jumper under the rear tires. But when HE jumps, "hey, I'm fast as f*@k boyEEEE, you just mad you got played." He is such a cocky prick - good or bad - and just smiles when he cheats.
