    That Lite Brite is cool, the ones I had and got for my kid were old school style that plugged into the wall and had a light bulb inside. It looks like I have to do a thrift store run to see what kind of toys I missed that could be cool props. By the way, I loved your book, it is great info for filmmakers just starting out. Keep up the great work

    100% gonna make one of these, tweak the design a little maybe with more greeblies, wires and cables etc. Thanks for the idea Anthony. Love the channel.❤ (UK)

    That's extremely cool....I had an idea for a "mainframe computer" build, mounting blinking Christmas lights inside ice cube trays. The white lights would blink in random patterns until the obligatory _"OH MY GOD! THE SHIP IS ON FIRE!"_ scene, where someone off-camera would flip the white lights off, and kick on the red ones.....

    I tried something similar with a Litebright, but I ditched the original colored pegs. I cut into the black plastic, creating one big hole for every four to five small holes, then glued colored tiles over the enlarged holes. By setting the Litbright to random, it lights up some of the tiles, but not all. The result looks a lot like a Star Wars-style status panel.

      Hmm...you are giving me ideas. Thank you so much. I assume a Lite-Brite is a rather sturdy device? For my purpose, the newer, battery-powered version might be of advantage.
      Might add this to my ever growing list of projects...

      Glad I could help!
      You can drop a modern Litebright and it'll still work. They're designed to be childproof. They're sturdy.

    I still have my childhood Lite Bright. LOL I'm actually going to stream custom Atari sprite pattern. LMAO. But this form of it is great. SO many ideas come to mind with it. Another great build, brother.

    If you keep the Lite Brite intact, you could have an alternate shell for it that was damaged or whatever. Maybe one ship is complete and another has been raided.

    This looks like something that could be turned into a miniature 1960s "blinkenlights" computer, similar to something out of "Time Tunnel" or "UFO"

  • @TheMajorActual
    @TheMajorActual 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Also....If you filled all the sockets with lights, you could replicate sectors of equal numbers of lights, then blink them in sequence, like the Sandman Headquarters computer from Logan's Run.

    UCE = United Colonial Empire. Also you can use the Lite Brite to make a crude old school galactic map.

    Probably too close of an arrangement of light points but might be useful as a star field outside a background window too. 🤔

    • @createscifi
      @createscifi  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You could use it for the distant stars

    So fun Idea, what if you cut a two layer front frame and two layers of button and the actual front frame had a hole in it and the lower knob that lacked surface detail did as well, then you could put a pair of magnets inside the two holes and then be able to turn the knobs without them being floppy or having a nut or screw visible on the front, if they are a little proud the you could even have the knobs be not quite touching the panel like you see with old stereos. Also as far as adding a bit of texture goes what about thinning down milliput to a paintable consistency then stippling it in letting it cure and then lightly sanding it? It could also help with a project if you ever really need to hide the seams.

      @createscifi I wrote that before I saw that you mentioned it in the video. I just wanted to say something first. Lol. By the way, I love that you have such a passion for this. I watched prop making videos back in the Indy Mogul BFX days. Now everyone is using crazy CG and 3D printers and laser cutters, but you go out of your way to show that you don't need to do it that way if you don't have those tools. When you make something like this, I think about all the cool ways I could use it. Good stuff.

    $5 !? $75 US, plus shipping, with the exchange rate that's pretty close to $300AUD. Hell, gave up buying t-shirts 6 months ago from merch shops, $120 for a t? Nah. Good luck with your economy guys! Looking more and more like you're going to be the only ones that can afford your own stuff!😂
