My handstand holds and everything else improves so fast but my kickups are still really really inconsisted. I needed this video thanks! ps: sent you a message over insta
Great, add it to your warm up. I’ll check my messages on Insta
Nice
Thank you very much for the tips
My pleasure!
Thanks Paul, very helpful. My kick up has regressed recently so I will making sure of those checks you mention. One thing I have noticed is that I struggle to keep the arms locked and they collapse sometimes during the kick up, I am able to hold my weight and do HSPUs against the wall so I think it is a habit I have got into rather than a strength issue. Any tips? All the best, Rich.
Yeah sounds like a habit, especially if you already have some confidence and strength. It could be mobility if you’re tight in the upper body and hips
Thank you, Paul!❤
Thank you 🙏
I was looking for a video on kick ups as I come down after a kick up against the wall heavy landing I will work on this well explained thanks
Great! Let me know how you go
appreciate the effort🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪
Thank you!
Great progression and extremely clearly explained.
Thank you
Nice drill
Glad you like it
Great drills
Awesome, glad you liked
Really good drills to practice. I can kick up to head stand but my shoulders are just not strong enough for the full weight. I'm doing pike push ups , but its slow progress 😢
It will come give it time
Thanks Paul , please show also how to remove banana curve from handstand
Great video idea, I’ll make it soon
@@PaulTwyman thanks Paul ...
1.53 is my problem. I start by shoulder’s directly on top of wrist but as I kick up my shoulders move forward. How do I fix this? I know the technique but somehow can’t do it. If someone brings me in alignment I can do a handstand with a proper form for a few seconds.
i can kick up almost exactly how you do every time but as soon as i hit that straight line i dismount ig i dont have enough strength
It’s probably more you don’t have a Balance Window. I’d recommend you work Heel Pulls and Toe Pull using the wall. This will create and strengthen a bigger balance window
@@PaulTwyman ok ill try thanks for the advice
Hi, it is difficult to hold balance even for a couple of seconds. Any advice please?
Try these th-cam.com/video/hhCHMxwDBWk/w-d-xo.html
Even though I believe I already master the kickup HS, it´s important for me to revisit the fundamentals every now and then to check if I´m still doing every step correctly. This has been very useful! 😀
Yes definitely, can be a great warm up
This applies the same when using paralettes?
Yes definitely. With P Bars I might dip the shoulders with a slight elbow bend as I kick up. Especially if they are higher ones
When i kick up i get a bit pike in my hips and its hard to even stay up do u have any tips?
Chest to wall holds, mobility and drilling of Heel Pull and Toe Pull exercises will help
@@PaulTwyman yeah i think its the tight hip flexors cause every time i kick i lead with my hips and legs wont even come forward…and ill try these drills and let u know how it goes
I have noticed that i only kick my leg but my hips are not moving forward. Do u have any tips?
Try to Kick the wall with the top leg by bending it. Once you can kick the wall aim to touch higher and higher until it pulls the hip, then the second leg to the wall
I am already trying to reach the wall for one year and I am still not able to kick up enough. I dont know what to do now
Chest to wall holds and walks should help build the strength and confidence. Hope that helps
