Another GREAT video Jill!! Thank you! I learned a lot and now know what to look for. I'm a big believer in dust-bath. I have chicks now and they went NUTS when I put a dust-bath in their area after six weeks - their first feathers in, so First Bath!! Exciting to them! My hens have their own dust bath but I'm keeping them separated for another couple of weeks. Those look like interesting nest box tray inserts. Details?
The box is just made of wood, on the external part of the coop, the trays are just paint trays, with the sides cut so they would fit, I love the trays because they are easy to clean and It also adds a little traction for them to walk on and the lines guide the Egg to the sawdust:) kind of like a rollaway box:)
@@askavettech2057 Now that - - is just SMART! Great idea. My nesting boxes are flat floored but I got some of the plastic material specific for nesting boxes. (I think it's the same stuff they use in the high end rollaway boxes) and they love it. Never any messy eggs and I don't think I have ever had to wash one!
You must have a rooster then..... it is not abuse- because if you didn't have a rooster, they would sit on those eggs until they die....... that would be abuse. Thank you for your comment, but I have to disagree.
Very interesting. Great video, Jill!
Thanks so much!!! Means alot coming from an amazing Great Dane Member!!!!

amazing!!!
Trying to "break" a broody hen is abuse. It is in their instinct to become broody and you need to allow the girls to go thru the process.
